Prepare for an experience that you will find Nostalgic, exciting and fresh. Black Mesa is a re-envisioning of Valve Software's seminal game Half-Life. You will re-visit the inaugural role of Gordon Freeman and his memorable journey through the Black Mesa Research Facility.
Expect tremendously detailed environments to explore, a huge cast of characters and experimental weaponry. All-new music, voice acting, choreography and added dialogue give way to a more expansive and immersive experience than ever before. In a nutshell, play Half-life the way we think it was meant to be played!

This mod is amazing! Feels like i'm playing a Valve's game, not a modification.
Now i understand what people felt like in 1998.

No matter how you slice it, it is still the same boring HALF-LIFE with improved graphics that look and feel outdated by four years. It was, and is, overhyped and overrated, but that does not mean that developers laid back and did nothing, oh no, they went above and beyond with level design. There are some new parts that were not in the original, but that's pretty much it. Also, it's not even a complete product. Yes, only 75% released, we're missing the final chapter of Xen. Why make something if…

LAMO DUDE!@!!!!!
We're working on it, but it takes time, we can't just have all the content materials made instantly for video footage, plus we also have to plan out a good film clip and record/edit it.
We are working on it, the latest alpha build is keeping us busy.

Dear Bacon333,
Your last comment on the page leaves me with a tight feeling inside. I would just like to say this:
NO ****, We weren't born yesterday. If anyone here was actually after Hl1 they shouldn't be here in the first place.
Thanks, have a great day.
guys, i note that you are going to increase poly counts and genrally "push the engine to the limit".
I hope that this does not mean that a pc that can play HL2 on med-high definition will have a significant fps drop?
or are you just referring to increased poly count over the original HL1 models?
Often mods are just too slow to play (often becuase of sloppy coding) until you upgrade your pc by which time there is a newer and prettier 'must have' game out there.
Looking foward to your next update and some new photos...
