Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.

The wait was just long enough for all kinds of crazy bets to be made, but time to cash those in, because the Black Mesa Trailer is good to go and up for viewing! You can download the high resolution version straight off of Monkey-Junkie's website and or stream it right here on ModDB. We hope this gives you a small taste of what the game will be like, and we hope it was worth the extra wait!
We also forgot to include some great Power Up shots by Kim Dahlgren, so be sure and check those out on our media page! This officially concludes our media release, but not future updates! And as stated in the trailer, the days this mod stays in development are truly numbered. Hang tight, because at long last, it is coming.

by the way, I got some questions. Will you need Orange Box to play this? I've got the first HL2 retail box version, included HL2, HL2:DM, CSS blabla.
And will it work with my old FX5200, P4 3.0GHz computer? I know that Source engine can handle old games, but seems like some mod uses upgraded shader and it makes my game lags like hell, example Zombie Panic Source, it lags when there are 10 players in the map for no reason (FPS drops)

You need only one source game. It doesn't matter which one. The specs are similar to Hl2:Ep.2 specs.
I may not have liked half life 2, but I loved half life, and in saying that, I think this mod is so good that I would pay money for it, especially after seeing that trailer.
I loved those killer tentacle things, that was great, I can't wait to play that part again :)
