Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
Quite a nice looking scene despite the outdated engine, good work.
Old or not, looks better than a lot of AAA games out there.
Lot of AAA projects have no soul...
And good Source mods are more than full of soul! ^^
Moddb.com see what you can get out of an "outdated engine?"
I'm more partial to this treatment of an outdated engine:
i've seen so many source engine vids and i cant believe i haven't seen that. source can still look great
It's a shame the Valve is so hesitant to put this stuff into vanilla Source.
Well they are working on Source 2...and this video gives me great hope for it.
Last I heard, Valve has no intention of making Source 2. Did they change their minds?
Then last you heard was probably a few years ago. Within the last few months Gaben openly admitted that they are developing Source 2, and have been developing it for quite some time.
Now this is a unique scene. Haven't seen a toxic green liquid in a game recently!!!
Well Done!
Blast Pit is probably one of my favourite levels. You made it look amazing.
agreed :D
I know this is going to be a great mod and this level looks great but **** this room, I have always hated the bull-squids and this gives me more reasons to.
Man these graphics are amazing for such a old engine.
dat quality... awesomeness!
Oh Bullsquid, how I have missed you.
Anyone else notice that the Bullsquids eyes are in a different possition? 0.0
Yea and I honestly don't like this version at all
Maybe it was done to make it look like the Bullsquid could aim its acid shots. Maybe they were reading about predator vs prey Monocular/Binocular vision. I would like clarification on the design change.
This looks really excellent. beautiful work guys!
This makes my non existant babies cry tears of joy.
