The only thing that would be changeable is to make the tentacles red, like others suggested.
Don't change the eyes, all black eyes look just like those ugle stereotypical alien eyes. Keep them like this.

LOL, when i first could inspect a bullsquid at close range in HL1, i saw one of its stain, on the side, flinch and it creepd me out, but hey EYES!
