Run. Think. Shoot. Live. Source. Black Mesa is the Half-Life 2 total conversion of the original Half-Life game. Utilizing the Source engine and its endless array of possibilities and powers, Black Mesa will throw you into the world that started the Half-Life continuum and introduced Gordon Freeman to the world as a gun-toting, bullet-dodging Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics.
Nice detail in the debris etc, but those shadows just don't look right at all.
Hah?
i think that shadows add the effect of gloom and doom i like them XD
They're angled too well, it seems like they're shadowing objects that aren't there, the lighting angle should be adjusted a little to make the shadows look less snapped-to-a-grid
I thought the same thing, before I found out the light source. The light is backroung left, pointing about 45 degrees onto the grated platform, looking from that angle, the shadows are actually spot on.
Perspective is a bitch.
Hmm,
I don't know, I like the shadows.
(Keep em' =P)
There is nothing wrong whith the shadows=:O .
The shadows ARE wrong.
essentially the position of the light does not relate to the position od the shadows. According to the shadows the light source should be further back against the left wall, but that would place it inside the curved wall section. - it has possibly been moved since the shadow positions were generated ?
This really makes the original map design look pathetic. :P
Great job guys!
Blow this up and make me a wallpaper out of it!
Damn, that is nice level detailing right there!
Black Mesa is beginning to feel like a real place....
Nice. Good work!
Those crates are a bit too common though!
why is the top part of the ladder black?
