And actually you find the Tau Cannon at the end of Lambada Core, So possibly there currently doing Xen, The game is not that far from completion everyone.

I never really got why they called it a tau or Gauss gun :/ To me those coils look like electromagnets not Tesla coils (yes the 2 are different)

This is how I assume this thing could work :/

Since its powered by Uranium U235 I assume this sucker is basically a small man portable nuclear reactor. The reactor powers the electro magnetic coils like a in a linear accelerator

(Gauss/rail gun but technically isn't one as it has no barrel made of rows of EM coils/rails.)

Both magnets would keep the radioactive particles with in the gun & to fire the front magnet simply turns of for a second or becomes less powerful than the one in the back. That would result in the particles discharged in that direction.

The radiation would be safely (I assume it is o.o) contained in the gun due to intense EM waves controlling them & a fairly dense lead lining in the gun.

The projectiles would thus most likely be a concentrated beam of radioactive particles focused into a beam by the electro magnets.

The beam could ricochet Since the 3 containers of Uranium always spin at high velocity it would imply that the containers are filled with BB sized pellets of Uranium. By spinning it would collect the BBs in into a specific spot in the container & channel them into the EM chamber.

This would also explain how the gun can also "charge" as the more you charge the gun the more Uranium pellets are in the EM chamber causing a bigger nuclear reaction & then using the strong electro magnets (powered by the reaction) to expel the nuclear waste (depleted Uranium & Gama radiation) as a very lethal projectile/beam >:3
