Black Mesa Part 2.zip download

The second part is 500mb?? this whole downloading thing is messed up, on filefront there is a 3 part file system, in which the first part is missing and the 2 part system from moddb amounts to 600mb...seems a little small

Hm... For those who even after putting .001 and .002 it is not working, make sure that in folder options the hide extensions to known files is unchecked, so you can put .001 and .002 AFTER .zip.

For those of you getting files that are only a few hundred megabytes, use a download resumer/file manager to make sure you get the full-size files. If the server is dodgy/busy you may find that your downloads finish prematurely.

I think I've found the problem. It seems that there are SOME corrupted files, as far as I know there is 1 texture and 1 map. I'll try to extract without those 2 files then ask for someone who downloaded the torrent to upload the missing files.

****, are you rolling us... on part 2 in moddb the descriptions says 1,662.74mb then in gamefront its 421.41 MB only!!!! you ******* kidding me, i've downloaded part 1 already with the size of 2.63 gb, so that means all 10 hours of download is useless?!!

Guys, READ THIS MESSAGE if you want to save your sanity.
A lot of Zip programs struggle to handle a >2GB size. Winzip is one of these. I had to use 7-Zip with the renamed files that Henley suggested (blackmesa.zip.001 and blackmesa.zip.002) and the multi-file extraction worked.

ya this makes no ******* sense whatsoever, no offense you have to be more detailed. This type of extracting is vary different from anything were used too with source.

Dafuq is with the DL page? Everytime it goes to the site to hit the DL button it crashes my browser.

WinRAR can't open it... say "unexpected end of archive"(redownload it 2 times) or can't open

second time ive downloaded it, still isnt working, tried downloading on desura as well, fails after 1%

If you still haven't figured out the extracting part:

1) you need 7-zip installed.

2) Might help to have known file extensions unhidden before renaming the files

To un-hide: Click 'Organize' in the top left of explorer,
Then 'Folder an Search options', click the 'view' tab.
and untick the box that says 'Hide Extensions for known file types'
click ok.

3)Now rename the files to 'blackmesa.zip.001' & 'blackmesa.zip.002'

4)Right click the blackmesa.zip.001 file, go to 7-zip >extract to "blackmesa\"

5)Done

Seriously delete this crap with blackmesa.zip.001 & blackmesa.zip.002
and release a proper single file here on moddb. Other downloads including torrents are just ultra slow and therefore useless.

Something got messed up when the uploader split the files in the first place. There shouldn't be such massive problems renaming the files. Windows wont recognize part2 .002 as what it is. So there's nothing I can do about it.

@weasil: If it would be just that simple Neither winrar or 7.zip recognize 002 as zip file and therefore 7zip will simply ignore the contents of 002. My extracted blackmesa.zip file is only 600mb large and giving me an unexpected end of file error.

I appear to get an error for trying to extract Part 1 Rar file and a error with the 2nd file, saying that it is a unknown file type.

In all fairness it's a waste of time trying to download the game in parts, because most of the time these parts seem to be corrupt and even if you do get the proper ones - you still have to manually merge the parts. Your best bet is to find a mirror that lets you download the full game in one part.

If you're having problems this is what I did to get it running: Login or register and download the files from here (moddb). Put the .001 and .002 files into an empty folder. Do not rename them.
Follow these directions from an earlier post by Ghunter43:
"Download HJSplit (no install needed = hjsplit.org)
After, Start HJSplit and then click "Join", navigate to your .001 part and click start (make sure 001 and 002 are in the same folder).
Then unzip and install like a regular mod. I reckon you know how."
(You just have to click on .001 in HJsplit.)

Please explain better how to install this... You simply say to "keep the format of blackmesa.zip.001 and blackmesa.zip.002.... Well, that just gives me unknown files, to which Steam won't recognized them. I tried deleting the 001 and 002 to make them zip files and then extracted them to the sourcemods file, to which then winrar says the files are damaged or corrupt. Seriously, this shouldn't be THIS hard to install!!!

Hey, Black Mesa devs! First go first, I played your mod to the end and I can say:
HOLY SH*T IT'S THE BEST! It goes in my top 2 mods (aside Eastern Front).
Now I wanted to ask you will it be continued? I never played original Half-Life, at least not more then one hour, so this was a new, interesting experience. But it ends without the end :(. O.K., it is hard to make even a single map in SDK Source (tried my self), but you already did far more than that. Just one more chapter, I know you can do that. I would like to test that long jump thing in space :). So please think about it.

Thanks Flyboy it worked great! Thanks for the code! Only thing is the other guy said to extract it to the BMS folder in sourcemods. That's WRONG. Just extract everything to the sourcemods folder. It will all end up in its own folder anyway "Blackmesa" and it works fine.
