Black Mesa: Uplink is the recreation of the Half-Life demo (HL: Uplink) released by Valve in early 1999. The demo featured content that was scrapped from the original storyline. Some might consider it canon with the story, others don't. What matters though, is that many people enjoyed this short episode and that's the reason why I created Uplink for Black Mesa, the long awaited Half-Life remake for the Source Engine.

To play Black Mesa: Uplink, you will need the Source SDK Base 2007 (free) and a copy of the Black Mesa (also free!).

An update for everyone who has participated in the 3FM Serious Request Charity Event. Between the 18th and 24th of December 3 DJ's from a national Dutch radio station are holding their 7 day famine while being locked up in a glass house, to raise money for the Red Cross. This year's goal is to fight unecessary death of babies in third world countries.

I've asked the followers of my MOD to donate some money for this cause and I'm glad a few of you decided to help out. Together we''ve raised 50 USD and I've donated 40 EUR today. Currently 4,3 million EUR (5,7 million USD) has been donated by people in the Netherlands and with 1 day left it''s likely to become even higher. Hopefully a lot of good work can be done with that money.

EDIT: Event has officially ended and a record of donations has been raised: 12,25 million EUR!

Thank you all for the support! I wish all donators, followers and voters a merry Christmas (if you celebrate it) and all the best for 2013!

Im getting a crash with this mod. I am at the dome and the scientist says "wait a moment and I'll let you in". The door opens and I hit a loading point. It crashes here every time. No explanation, just hl2.exe has stopped working and must close.
I installed with the exe first and thought it may be a problem with the instal so I used the rar file the second time and still get it.
Anyone else got this and any suggestions?

Is there supposed to be anything after you align the satellite? I just get infinite waves of enemies, can't find a way out or anything to interact with.

There's a hatch that opens up by some steamy pipes, look around that area.

It just occurred to me: This is a mod of a mod of the sequel to a game, which was recreated by fans as the second aforementioned mod, and the first aforementioned mod is a recreation of the demo of the second aforementioned game.

Wrap your head around THAT.

I would suggest a name change because Uplink seems like an old title. It could be Black Mesa: Lambda Transmission. It still has the Black Mesa title which means it uses assets from BM, and Lambda Transmission for the satellite that sends the transmission to open the door to Lambda Complex. I think this can be right since all Half-Life remakes are changing their names too like Operation Black Mesa and Guard Duty. Besides, the name I gave seems to be cool.

Iam the only one to think this project need more work? Lot of work! The mapping is without any inspiration and the progression is boring...
We are far far far away of original Black Mesa!

What you mean is an adaptation. This is a remake. Therefore it stays close to the original, also with the gameplay kept intact as much as possible. Compared to today's standard, that gameplay isn't the most innovative.

I got people scolding me for changing small things on one hand, others scolding me for not changing enough on the other. With a remake you can never please everyone.

i'm sorry, but this doesn't look like an exact remake, in the original uplink you could kill the soldiers and then wait for an engineer to break the entrance door, here you NEED to go through the floor(after tuning the transmitter to the USNRC)

yes but the people scolding you for changing small things should be ignored, thats the thing about criticism, its best to have selective hearing when people give you bad reasoning behind their criticism. You should expand the levels greatly.
Black Mesa Hazard Course is doing just that, also Black Mesa itself has a few new areas. You shouldn't be afraid to give your own interpretation either.
