we too. it has 2 arms.. 2 legs.. a main body.. fingers... and dont complain about the feet fingers, coz some real people have only 3 fingers (thanks Chernobyl!)

I mean, I am talking about proportions. The torso, the thigh, and the calf have the same height.
Proportions are everywhere. You should respect 'em. VALVe started deforming a figure shape, a biped, and then they end up with these designs.
I'm not saying the model sucks and you need to suicide. Looks nice, some people can't do even that model. It could be better, that's all *rolleyes*

9K poly for a model sometimes might be a waste, dont abuse detail on really small parts, fingers can have at least 4 sides and still look good.
Also a really good texture makes the model look better than the amount of polygons.
You could cut down the poly count to half and still make it look good, maybe just keeping the most detail on the head and torso, also no need to model each individual abs, just make the texture for it.
