Playing Ground Zero or The Reckoning
To Play Ground Zero: Launch the Berserker.exe using the "+set net_compatibility 1" and "+set game rogue" launch parameters.
To Play The Reckoning: Launch the Berserker.exe using the "+set net_compatibility 1" and "+set game xatrix" launch parameters.
F.A.Q.
Q: When playing Ground Zero or The Reckoning expansion content, enemies and/or movable entities such as elevators are missing.
A: You must launch the game using the "+set net_compatibility 1" and "+set game rogue" or "+set game xatrix" launch parameters. Then start a game using Multiplayer -> Start Rogue Server or Multiplayer -> Start Xatrix Server. You can save and load games using the "sv_save" and "sv_load" commands.
Q: Weapons seem to fire faster and rockets move more quickly than I remember.
A: The mod increases weapon re-fire rate and rocket speed by default. This is to speed up multiplayer matches, but can throw off the balance of single-player. To disable this, you may change the settings located under Game -> Options -> Game Flags -> Haste Mode / Fast Rockets.
Q: What are these flying cubes and why are they shooting dead bodies? Why are there invisible enemies stalking me? Why are enemies re-spawning?
A: Each of these behaviors, plus a great deal more options, may be modified under the Game -> Options menu.
Q: The HUD is too big / too small!
A: Settings related to the HUD can be found under Video -> On Screen Info in the main menu.
Q: My screen resolution is not listed in the video options menu.
A: The available screen resolutions may be altered by editing the 'modelist.txt' file, which may be found in the same directory as the 'Berserker.exe' executable file. Simply replace one of the custom mode resolutions with your desired resolution and you will find that resolution listed in the video options menu.
If you experience any issues feel free to inquire in the comments.
The latest version may always be found at Berserker@Quake2.
I get this error while loading a custom map dod2_2.bsp - Dawn of Darkness Expansion (It should work just like Reckoning, Ground Zero, and Juggernaut!)
Hulk_Alloc overflow on maps/dod2_2.bsp
cursize=16777408 hunkmaxsie=16777216
if crashed during model or sprite loading,
try to clear catch and/or increase value of 'hunk_*' cvar...

In the game editor Jackhammer or QuArk ... I have loaded the map dod2_2.bsp but can not find the menu option to change the ... Hunk Size???
or is it in a q2b_config.cfg file?

How turn off invisible enemies?
16:9 res are not supported in the Video menu.
I added the following in q2b_config.cfg
seta r_mode "-1"
seta r_customwidth "2560"
seta r_customheight "1440"
However, the game only started with the standard res, and these lines had vanished in the cfg.

I have the same issue, did you get it fixed?

How do you launch a mod from the standard command line, like of old, ( i know about the ingame option, thats not what im asking)
You should be able to follow the exact same procedure as used to launch the missions packs. Gonna assume you're comfortable with using a terminal and file system here.
First, make sure the mod is properly installed into your working directory.
Open a terminal in your working directory and execute the command: "Berserker.exe +set game <mod-name> +set net_compatibility 1".
Let me know if it works.
i have tried this many time, but always I get invisible enemy. Please someone tell me how to fix that because this work is amazing and i want to play as soon as possible. :-)
Invisible enemies hows to turn this off? I don't remember this being in vanilla Quake 2.
For those that have the invisible enemies problem here is a work around. Instead of clicking on the berserker exe click on the samples. So far it seems to let you play the whole game as Im pretty far into it and no invisible enemies

found a way to turn invisible enemies off.
In your Quake 2 folder, go to map baseq2 and edit q2b_config.cfg
in this file set sv_predator to "0" and save
your game should now contain 0 transparent enemies
