BENEATH: ModDB's first new single-player map for F.E.A.R.!
This level is not considered a prequel, sequel, or continuation of the original game's story, but a "what if?"
What if F.E.A.R. were a tiny, inexperienced agency, whose existence was based entirely on the whim of a superstitious Army general? What if F.E.A.R. primarily investigated "anomalous" incidents-- flukes, rumors-- that no other agency cared to waste their time on? What if the F.E.A.R. crew never expected to stumble across any significant threats while chasing shadows... and then suddenly, they did?
Coincidentally, recruit, it's your first night on the job. And you think you're in for a walk in the park.
This single-player map is the first part of an original story set in the F.E.A.R. universe. Features all new setting, scripted events, and voice acting. Discover the secrets under the floorboards in a mysterious abandoned mansion. Discover what lies... BENEATH.

As stated in the readme and other materials, your copy of F.E.A.R. must be updated past version 1.04, or else the level will be broken, including missing walls and events that fail to trigger.

Well, it's a "what if," so it's more an alternate take on the same universe. It doesn't happen in the same timeline as the game.
I'm guessing this happens BEFORE the actual story of F.E.A.R. because you said it takes place in the same universe.

Make sure your version of F.E.A.R. is updated to latest version. If you haven't patched, triggers and AI will be broken.

Very cool map. Smacks of effort, and professionalism - Only gripe is that it was too short, and I got a little confused as to what to do on several ocassions. (The upstairs room with the patched up floorboard leading down a stairwell looked like an obvious entry point to the underground area I was looking for, but after ten minutes of fruitless bashing and blasting, I gave up and eventually wandered into the ACTUAL entrance to the underground bit on the first floor. Just abit ambiguous, thats all.
I'm gonna play this once I'm not lazy and reinstall F.E.A.R
I like it.
It's a good mod, I just wish that it was more than a half-hour of play.
I know more installments are coming, but still.
