Battlefield 40K is currently in need of skilled BF Editor and Python coders and a character modeller to assist the development of the mod for release in November.
Battlefield 40k's Mission
Is to transform the Tabletop game of Games Workshops Warhammer 40,000 into an FPS for the Battlefield 2 Engine.
The purpose of our mod project is to put six races in game.
The aim for first release is focusing on a Imperial Guard Cadian Shock Troops vs Tau Empire Campaign (details on the campaign will be unveiled near release of the first alpha).
Races in Development
Space Marines Adeptus Astartes, Chapter: Blood Angels
Space Marines are genetically enhanced superhumans that form the elite forces of the imperium of man. They are one of the most loyal forces to the Emperor.
The Blood Angels were formed by the Primarch Sanguinius, their genes derive from him. During the Horus Heresy Their founder died at the hands of the traitor Horus. Ever since this incident the chapter has not been quite the same. Their geneseed now contains the Black Rage. At times The Blood Angels will lose control to the curse and annihilate all the enemy tearing them limb from limb without mercy.
Imperial Guard : Cadian Shock Troopers
The Imperial Guard are the largest military force that the Imperium of man holds at their disposal. They are tasked with defending the many planets under the emperors rule.
The Cadian shock troopers defend the most crucial planets that are near to the eye of terror which the forces of chaos pour through when black crusades are undertaken.
Tau Empire
A new race, evolving at a rapid rate along with their technology and Empire., with the ethos the greater good
Battlefield 40k will accurately model the races, the technology and the equipment of future warfare in the 40,000 universe. Featuring wars in distant galaxies and in a host of difficult, unforgiving terrain. Humankind has to struggle for it's very existence in a universe of total war.
Battlefield 40k will supplement the depiction of brutal future warfare with a host of highly detailed depiction of distant worlds and civilizations. Never before has the future of warfare looked so clear.
Battlefield 40k's Background
Even in the early stages of it's development the mod has already attracted a small but hardworking team of skilled highly motivated Modelers, UVmappers, Texture Artists, Sound editors, scripters and Mappers that are also enthusiastic Warhammer 40,000 fans.
We are keen to generate as much support for this fantastic modification of Battlefield 40k.
The mod began on July 28th 2004.

Dear BF40K fans,
The final infantry model required to make a release: Tau XV25 Stealth is now available.
Adam has rigged it with a custom skeleton (a first for this mod) and we spent 20 minutes testing it in 2142 on Tuesday.
Adam is going to rebuild 2142 mod from scratch and put the following assets in.
Tau
Infantry Classes
Kroot, Firewarrior, Combat Engineer, Pathfinder, XV15/25
Vehicles
Piranha, Devilfish & Hammerhead (With Railgun & Burst Cannons)
Emplacement
Tau Drone Turret with Twin Linked Plasma Rifles
Imperial Guard
Infantry Classes
Guardsmen, Hardened Vet, Combat Engineer, Heavy Weapons, Kasrkin
Vehicles
Sentinel, Chimera & Leman Russ
Emplacement
Turantula with Twin Linked Heavy Bolters
We did want to have custom commander and squad leader character models but as we have no artists available to make them, we are sticking with what completed art assets we have.
All of this needs coding in for us to release.
A Manual needs to be written.
Bad news:
BF40K - BF2 will be discontinued as inaiths PC has now broken there is no-one left to continue the build.

soo it will be coming out soon. but it wont be done>?
That depends on if I can get any coders to help out. I'm examining the code myself now to see what I can stabilise for a basic alpha of the bf2 version.
Update, I've heard back from Adam today hes back.
I am in the progress of recruiting a very good artist. He also has some uni friends who graduated with him recently that are coders, but with no bfeditor experience. There may be hope yet.
AWESOME!

swweeet so the mods not dead?
None of my devs have responded for the last month, so now the 2142 edition is also in jeapody. I'm thinking of releasing both versions in their last alpha form.
I'd love to play this, finished or not
Please release it. People can still get fun out of it, even in early Alpha.
