The Battlefield 2-modification "Battlefield: Korea" deals with the Korean War (1950 - 1953), which is also known as "Forgotten War".
The main fractions are: (UN) US, South Korea against North Korea and China.
Most weapons and vehicles which used in the Korean War became famous during WWII (T-34/85, PPSh-41, M1 Garand, M1/M2 Carbine,...) but there were also innovations -
for instance weapons and tanks which were developed during WWII but came to late to gain significance (i.e. the M26 Pershing tank or the 3.5" M20 Super Bazooka) or jets which were used by both sides in big quantities for the first time (F-80 Shootingstar, F-86 Sabre, MiG-15,..)
Our goal is an adequate mix of realism and 'simple gameplay' focusing on historical accuracy and fun.

We currently are in dire need of assistance over at bfk,we are looking for coders,animaters and any thing else of intrest that you in the community can offer to speed thing up for this awesome mod,plz guys we need someone to also help with getting the new playermodle animated and in game.
Well I think you guys will like this mod as much as PR and FH2 its going to be just as realistic as those two.I am just sadend that more ppl cant help out the BFk mod.I dont know how to mod or I would help them.Thats why we despratly need the help of modders of all types.
Part of the problem is that we havent advertised over there hardly at all this year.but thats only so more time can be put making weapons and models and vehicls.What I think will be of greater use to our cause would be a vehicle coder and modeler.we hava the first jet on jet combat ever,the first use of a helicopter in mainstream fire fights and recon nature,and mostly ww2 weapons with a few newer things like the awesome 50.cal mg for the Americans,and the 1910 Maxim mg for the North Koreans which isnt new but equaly powerfull.
we have the beutifull F-86 Sabre,and the equaly amazing soviet Mig.the jets are so fun.We will also include the Pershing tank for the Americans and the North Koreans will have the T-34/85 tank,just to name a few for each side.

You may have noticed that we don't have many updates but of course that doesn't mean that we aren't working hard - at the moment we are working a lot together with other mods (for instance USI and EoD) to achieve our goals
Good to see the mod kicking. Like to thank you guys for making a Korean war mod that you will see through. This war is fogotten. With all the billions of WW2 games I havent seen a Korean war game. YOure probably the only reason I am not selling my copy of BF2. Thanks! :)

We'll try to find a good mix of realism and gameplay
For instance we plan to have at least two players to operate one tank (driver and gunner)
The driver could control the radio operator's MG
What will the alignment of the mod be? Realistic or the same, old, crappy arcade?

we plan to include other countries like GB and Canada... but at the moment we concentrate on the american army (KPA and PLA as well, of course)
Since our team is... very small (let's hope it'll grow ^^), we'll do it "step by step"
We also contact many "big mods" to work with us, we'll do something fo em, and they'll help us...

Been waiting for a good Korea mod. Was such a crazy war.......mixture of ww2 gear on the ground and the dawn of jet combat in the air. Good stuff. Hope you include some of the Canadian and other UN operations.

South Korea used the same weapons as American soldiers and there were only little differences between the uniforms as well.
... so it wont be too difficult to include South Korea I guess
