The Battlefield 2-modification "Battlefield: Korea" deals with the Korean War (1950 - 1953), which is also known as "Forgotten War".
The main fractions are: (UN) US, South Korea against North Korea and China.
Most weapons and vehicles which used in the Korean War became famous during WWII (T-34/85, PPSh-41, M1 Garand, M1/M2 Carbine,...) but there were also innovations -
for instance weapons and tanks which were developed during WWII but came to late to gain significance (i.e. the M26 Pershing tank or the 3.5" M20 Super Bazooka) or jets which were used by both sides in big quantities for the first time (F-80 Shootingstar, F-86 Sabre, MiG-15,..)
Our goal is an adequate mix of realism and 'simple gameplay' focusing on historical accuracy and fun.

Hate to mention something if someone else has, but why not use the M46 Patton instead of the M26 Pershing? The Patton was just a Pershing with a much better engine; the Pershing itself was so underpowered that tankers would take an M4A3 Sherman over it in the mountains of Korea.
Hiho!
Well for several reasons...
reason 1 is that the Pershing was still a very common tank during the Korean war and another reason is..... well - the Pershing is a good base to do a M46-conversion (stunning, huh?)
Don't think that we'll miss the fun to do a cool M46 Patton with a mean tiger color scheme ^^
Awesome. If you guys need any detail shots for modeling or anything, let me know - I've got R. P. Hunnicutt's books on the Pershing, Patton, Sherman, Sheridan (Includes M41 Walker Bulldog), and all American heavy tanks, including detailed line drawings, exact technical specifications, internal views and a heck of a lot more that normally can't be found online.
ah, cool - I've got some osprey-... uh books? about Pershing and co.
I would really like to know if your references show any informations about the Pershing's/Patton's gunsight (especially the 'crosshair') because I haven't been able to find anything about it
oh lol ya I remember you man the flamethrower dude! It was a long day and i was tired so thats why i didn't recognize the name.
Ok fellow BFK aficionados, stop by our forums for the latest info and don't forget to sign up on the forums to see the devs workbench threads that are invisible to the general public. there you will see all the kool behind the scenes progress that the devs make everyday on the mod.
we are still looking for fellow moders to be devs, so if you think that you would like to work for this l33t mod then please stop by and post your application. Great help is needed in the animation and coning departments.
Hello Anthony, its me, SJonni from the Filefront forums. Ill sure download this mod when it`s done ;)
well thank you for the support.I am sorry, but I don't recognize the name? you mean the FH2 forums?
hi fellas, just so you know we arnt dead!the devs are stil working very hard to get the mod finished.why dont you guys join the forums?
Well I think you guys will like this mod as much as PR and FH2 its going to be just as realistic as those two.I am just sadend that more ppl cant help out the BFk mod.I dont know how to mod or I would help them.Thats why we despratly need the help of modders of all types.
Part of the problem is that we havent advertised over there hardly at all this year.but thats only so more time can be put making weapons and models and vehicls. What I think will be of greater use to our cause would be a vehicle coder and modeler.we hava the first jet on jet combat ever, the first use of a helicopter in mainstream fire fights and recon nature, and mostly ww2 weapons with a few newer things like the awesome 50.cal mg for the Americans, and the 1910 Maxim mg for the North Koreans which isnt new but equaly powerfull.
we have the beutifull F-86 Sabre, and the equaly amazing soviet Mig.the jets are so fun.We will also include the m26 Pershing tank for the Americans and the North Koreans will have the T-34/85 tank, just to name a few for each side.
Come on over and support the awesome mod,you wont regret it!
