The Battlefield 2-modification "Battlefield: Korea" deals with the Korean War (1950 - 1953), which is also known as "Forgotten War".
The main fractions are: (UN) US, South Korea against North Korea and China.
Most weapons and vehicles which used in the Korean War became famous during WWII (T-34/85, PPSh-41, M1 Garand, M1/M2 Carbine,...) but there were also innovations -
for instance weapons and tanks which were developed during WWII but came to late to gain significance (i.e. the M26 Pershing tank or the 3.5" M20 Super Bazooka) or jets which were used by both sides in big quantities for the first time (F-80 Shootingstar, F-86 Sabre, MiG-15,..)

Our goal is an adequate mix of realism and 'simple gameplay' focusing on historical accuracy and fun.

This time it's a quite small news update but we hope that you enjoy it anyway.

As we try to achieve a high grade of quality we do our best to keep old models and skins up to date, but sometimes we have to create completely new ones to replace them. In this case it was the M1/M2 Carbine which begged for some rework. For all of you who don't know the "M2 Carbine": it's a version of the well-known M1 Carbine which was introduced in 1945 and is capable of fully-automatic fire. It's easy to recognize by its characteristic 30-round magazine as well as a small selective fire switch right next to its chamber.

Although these weapons are still 'work in progress', they are already 99% done:

M1/M2 Carbine (ironsight)

Thanks,
BFK Team

We try to display the war as accurate as possible. That contains Mig-15, T-34, Pershings, USA etc. The real war also had much more soldiers on the Chinese side, but we have to deal with a 1-1 ratio in that game.

And you should study our mod:
We depict the UN forces (major parties: ROK and US Army) and the North Korean and Chinese forces - yes thatare all who fought my friend

But yeah, if our team was maybe 1000 times as big and we'd have an endless amount of free time we'd even portray the Philippine troops

And then - you saw it right, that is an American M26 Pershing tank - believe it or not but it was used by the American US Army - amazing.
Happily we got a T34/85 tank for our North Korean and Chinese tropps... what irony - maybe someone did some research? I don't know...

Oh, and you want me to show you some photos of a North Korean sniper rifle? I don't think so - and by the way... yeah we already have unscoped "sniper rifles" for the Chinese/N.Korean forces as well - are you happy now?

No airforce? Dammit - how could they field some 500 MiG-15s only at MiG Alley then? And how could the US ariforce claim over 800 shot down aircrafts (oh... that must have been a typo, I admit)

North Koreans and Chinese vs. South Koreans and United Nations forces? YES!

The war/tactical gaming genre needs a Korean War game, and if the professionals don't want to touch it, then god down it should be modded!

I'm aifraid that we wont provide such features - our mod isn't about the politics of that time; it's about several men confronting each other in a war caused by political reasons which most of them couldn't even understand - all of them were human beings and more than once people (mostly Americans) came to us stating that they would looking forward to shoot down some f-ing commies and I can just say that it's not our goal to satisfy such needs - maybe some people don't want to accept that the cold war is over

Ya we arent representing morbid killings of chinese in this mod, I think god that its being made by german's which are a neutral country in the subject. Therefore we will get an unbiased view of the reall war, not some "pro American" or "Pro communist" view. Its being portrayed as it should be, correct and accurate to all sides involved.

Btw, I am a Texan, and would like to see things the way they really happend.

yeah, Korea was the main battlefield for the Pershing... it just came to late for WW2 to be really in combat.
Both tanks have been common for Korea, and I agree with Zefan that we're planning to do a Patton as well.
