Battlefield: Apocalypse - A Battlefield 2 Full Conversion

They say the world was green once. Trees and grass. I've seen the pictures, but it's still hard to believe. How the hell did we come to this? There are a hundred different stories, and who knows what's true and what's not any more? You see, I was born After. Never got to feel the grass between my toes or climb a tree the way my grandad talked about. For all I know, he may have been the last one from Before, and he's gone now, too.

I suppose it was bound to happen sooner or later. Grandad said that men always seem to find a way to destroy each other, and themselves. Seems to me that they did a hell of a job this time, and took out the whole damn planet in the bargain.

I guess we're not any different now, though. No lessons learned. They say it was a real mess in The Dark, that time just After when the survivors began crawling out of their holes. The sky was blacked out by ash clouds, and almost every growing thing was dead. People killed each other over food, and to hear Grandad tell it, sometimes they had to eat those they killed.

Wasn't long before folks started banding together. They built strongholds in the rubble, and they salvaged what they could from the machines of Before: cars, generators, guns. Eventually, the Dark passed, and Man survived.

You might think that's a good thing, that it's the start of civilization again. You might think that the worst is behind us now. But if you'd ask me, you'd be wrong. You see, these "civilized" people, they still fight and kill, sometimes for the sheer joy of it. And some of those who crawled out of their holes in The Dark came out changed, twisted, mutated into something no longer completely human. No, the worst is not behind us. We're right here in the middle of hell. So I roam the roads alone, my car and this gun my only companions. Waiting for my turn to die.

Welcome to the Apocalypse!

The BF:Apocalypse team is proud to unveil to you our new kit selection screens. If you click on the screenshot below, you can see the unique screens for both the Remnant and the Reavers. As you might expect, we have added our own apocalyptic flair. The selection includes the name of each class, as well as an image of the primary weapon in each kit. The selection icon is our radioactive Apocalypse symbol. Notice also the custom BF:A art in the background. Kudos go to El Teniente for an outstanding job building the interface!

We have added a number of alpha testers recently, and the team is currently hard at work play-testing our weapons. Juralis talks about the progress of the testing in the newest entry of the Modder's Journal. You can also watch a video clip of some of the action. And check out this video of The Postman going postal.

Tell ya what...have a friend hammer a bunch of long nails through a 2x4 and then have him hit you in the head, chest, arm, or leg, and let us know.

I bet that if he swings at you like you're a baseball, he's going to sink nails right in to any part of your body...

it would be damn fine if there could be a 128 player servers with big maps and lots of mutants to kill with teamwork(if there was an option to buy guns and stuff it would be a big +)

Multiplayer will be the main focus for BF:A, bots will not be coded until a few releases after the first (0.1).

If you are talking about a MMORPG, apparently BF2 does have the capability for 128 players ;-)

If u ask me u should make longer game and focus to the story in multiplayer mode. now there comes a question : "how can u use story at multiplayer?!" well u need to make the singleplayer mode playable at multiplayer but with many players worldwide.. this kind of mod would get some gamers interests.
