i think is ok!
thats more of an animation thing. because where it is at is where the point of impact is.
Maybe you could lower the gun then.
Make the aiming animation only lower the gun when you aim instead of changing the normal animation. Nothing stupider than when the player holds his gun at hip level, or too close to his face, really ruins the game.
