About the mod

The total conversion modification Battlefield 1918 (or BF1918 for short) takes Battlefield 1942 into a whole new scenario, the first world war. Next to historically correct equipments and vehicles, we recreated the atmosphere of these WW1 battlefields as close as we can, keeping in mind the game we are working with. To achieve this, we have drastically changed the gameplay from the original game like so that you must now rely on teamwork, artillery, trenches and slow vehicles.

Battlefield 1918 combines fun with historical correctness, gaming with history, the memory of one of the most terrifying wars mankind has ever known, with fun had by people over the internet. Next to the battles fought on the Western front between mostly the Germans, the British and the French, wealso cover other scenarios, such as the Turkish battlefields at Gallipoli, the Eastern front where Germany and Austria-Hungaria fought against Russia, the Italian front and lately the battles in Africa. Next to land- and airbattles using historic weapons and vehicles, we are also planning on covering the naval aspect of WW1 in a broad spectrum, as this was the time in which the great battleships still were the absolute rulers of the seas.

About Inside1918

Inside1918
is a small community still working on Battlefield 1918. We organize tournaments, events and LANs around the game and we are keeping the mod alive. At the moment, we are working on the Major Release 3, which will be Battlefield 1918 final. A few weeks ago we announced that the work on Battlefield 1918 Major Release 3 was nearly finished. While this is partly true (all of the contents we wanted to include in the release are complete and built-in), some really severe bugs that we found in the final tests pevented us from releasing MR3. Maps kept on crashing, player models wore the wrong uniforms when you played online (this, for some reason, did not happen when you played offline...), and planes acted like walruses rather than feathers...stuff like that.

Once these bugs are all wiped out, we are ready to release - but I am not going to name you a specific date (because I can not -.-), so please keep on watching our profile here at moddb.com and our homepage. Once the mod is done, we tell you.

Anyway...this would not be a BF1918 news without screenshots, now would it? The answer is obviously "no". Here you are:

Soldier of the Russian Empire

Say hello to our Russian Soldier. Equipped with a Mosin-Nagant 1891 Rifle, he is eagerly willing to fight the Germans and the Austrians, his main enemies in Battlefield 1918. So far, we planned two maps for the Russian soldier: Tannenberg (against Germany) and Krakau (against Austria). For some historical background, please refer to the screenshots description here at our profile.

Indian Soldier

This man here is a member of the Indian Army. We decided to add these soldiers in the mod to introduce some variety, especially for the maps of the Middle Eastern Theater of the war. You can find the Indian Army in the maps Siege of Kut Al Amra (remember the video?) and Tanzania Plains.

ANZAC Soldier

More help for the British comes from down under: The Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) makes its debut at Battlefield 1918 MR 3. Bismarck Archipel and Lutte de Honneur will be the maps where you can find them.

Map Preview: Passo di Falzarego

This screenshot shows a small part of an all-new map called Passo Di Falzarego. Fight as either a Italian or Austro-Hungarian soldier in this map and gain control of the Dolomites (at least of a small part of it) - and be careful not to accidently make a wrong step, as these mountains surely are high!

So, this is it. Thank you for your attention. I recommend these fine Wikipedia articles for further reading, as this is where I got the information I needed for the screenshot's descriptions from.

See you on the Battlefield of BF1918 MR3 - soon...

huar, Battlefield 1918 3.0 is finally released, so you dont need the SP-Hotfix (Singleplayer with bots works in 3.0).
