The Great War played a pivotal role in the history of Russia. Russian Empire entered the war with great goals and the largest army in the world and ended it in a catastrophe, downfall of the 300 year old monarchy and rise of the first communist country in the world, which was to influence the course of world history in the 20th century.
Russian losses in WW1 were terrible, numbering up to 8 mln. soldiers, out of them - 1.5 mln dead and 4 mln. wounded.
We dedicate Russian campaign to all the Russian soldiers, who gave their lives in the course of WW1 and whose sacrifice was forgotten.

Some info about the Russian campaign :

  1. 10 missions with an average length of 1 hour
  2. Spans from 1914 to 1916
  3. Includes such battles as :
  • East-Prussian offensive
  • Battle of Galicia
  • Battle of Warsaw
  • Battle of the Masurian lakes
  • Gorlice-Tarnow offensive
  • Brusilov offensive

Yes! Don't let this turn into Totaler Krieg I.E
'We promise to release the open beta on 23/12/12!'
*Goes silent, deletes any comment mentioning this after the date passes*
'We promise to release new gameplay videos on 14/4/13!'
*Goes silent again, doesn't explain why they haven't appeared for several weeks after that point*

Although to be fair, we have seen actual gameplay of *this* mod, so we can be sure that it exists.. and from what I have seen, it looks incredible.

Not to rush the already brilliant progress, but I suggest that the mod be released within the next month or I can almost guarantee that most of your fans will lose heart, and thus, will look at this project as dead. As an example, a mod group for Napoleon Total War has been attempting for the last year to bring about WWI mod for the game, however, lack of progress updates and an estimated release date has left the mod considered almost dead. I do not wish this mod to be reduced to that when it ,apparently, is so close to a release...

Indeed, but i think the ammount of work and progress they have it wont be too long before a release comes out, i think in a comment by the mod leader he said the mod is being wrapped up and polished, and that some voices and models are being finished, if you wanna look at the progress just check them pictures :)

Wow dude, wow to sound self-entitled AND show how little you know about modding at the same time. You can't rush good work

Well I'm sure that 'The Great War' mod is not dead, they have probably hit a barrier and are just building a ladder to climb over it, that will take some time but after that is finished theres only a mad dash to the finish line (The release)

Rumors of our death are greatly exaggerated. So, we are still alive.
Work in progress. E.g. testing, voicing, adding some new models...
