Battle Grounds
Half-Life mod | Released Jul 4, 2006
The Battle Grounds(BG) is a Half-Life Modification based on the Revolutionary War. You and your teammates will have to act together strategically to fight the enemy teams. It will be team based game play.
In Bg you can play as a solider in two teams:
1. The Royal British Army
2. The Colonial United States Continental Army
For each side you will have a choice of several classes, each with their own individual style and unique playing feel.

With the Battle Grounds now being advertised in steam, the player community increased has by around tenfold in the last week. More and more people are enjoying playing the Battle Grounds and the number of new people playing the Battle Grounds is increasing daily.
We are desperately looking for more game servers, which can handle the current amount of players.
Almost all servers are full during the day and people are happy if they can find an open slot on any server, no matter where the server is located or how high the ping is.
If you always thought about hosting a Battle Grounds server yourself now might be the perfect time to do so. If your clan is thinking about renting a server, please do so.
I will also take this opportunity to announce that we will be releasing the first of two trailers for 1.2.2 on Monday.

I don't see how my comments where uncalled for. It's my opinion, no need to get mad at me for it.
btw, I have downloaded the map pack.
also in 1.2.2 there are excellent new effects which make the game look alot better graphics wise, i think the screen shots there are from 1.2 , we are now on 1.2.1 and there is a beta of 1.2.2 rc4 out
Hybrid comments like that are uncalled for,
you obviously havent been playing this mod very long, and you would know that the melee is not buggy atall just different, its not like dod or cs it takes alot of skill to get a headshot on the other person with the knife/sabre and to a lesser exstent the bayonet
and you obviously havent downloaded the official map pack which has some new very well made maps in there better than most of the ones that come with the full game which are more than 2 years old,
and its on the hl engine ffs so how is it ment to have great graphics, there are plenty of 3rd party models to replace any that you dont like, my favorate are the napoleonic playermodels, and yo ucan get all this stuff in the 3rd party section on the forums and more stuff at jackhamemrs quick access download page, so please get some experiance with the game before you post bs comments from your first impression on the 1.2.1 fuck up of forest road.
Well, the mod is pretty fun. It's not good enough to go to retail though, the player models and maps are horrible, half life can do much better. Also, the melee seems buggy.
I rarely come across games that re as good as this one. Only thing is the graphics. When HL2 comes out, make sure to make the graphics as good as Counter-Strike Source/2 or Half-Life 2.
This is the best mod ever I loves it!
I am more into visuals + gameplay, all I see is people boasting about the gameplay, the screens are poor, I've seen much better with the HL engine. But if people are screaming for this mod to go retail, and they DON'T happen to be on staff, then I commend you guys.
I've always loved this mod, I guess I should modwatch it so I don't miss news items, :)
