The Battle Grounds 2(BG2) is a Half-Life 2 multiplayer modification based on the revolutionary war. It is the sequel to the popular HL1 mod with even more features and possibilities. The British Army and its Native American tribal allies engage in battle against the United States Continental Army and local militia forces. Interactivity is a very important factor in this mod and team play is as important as ever before. Take aim and fire muskets, prepare bayonets and take control of the battlefield to succeed in your campaign for final victory. Combat will vary from long-range rifle marksmanship to brutal close quarters hand-to-hand melee fighting. You will need a mix of first person combat skills and quick-thinking strategy to survive. So prepare yourself to do battle for your side and to meet the enemy head-on. Only one side can be victorious.

The Developers and the Atlantic Battlegrounds Club are hoping to revive the Battle For the Colonies Concept this spring. The concept is simple: construct a grand campaign using a rough map of the 13 colonies and two designated "armies" of players. Each side will have soldiers, a commander, and will take turns attacking and defending territories on the campaign map. Individual battles are decided based on the outcome of matches played in the Battle Grounds 2.

It says something about a steam id ticket so i can join anygame.....
delete your config folder from steam main directory and reverify account.
Delete both blobs and config.vdf and you should have minimal problems, occasional shutdown but not as often.
Wow, this is a very good idea. There really aren't that many mods based off of the American Revolution, or actual games for that matter. I cannot believe that there really aren't that many. Most war video games are centered around World War II, or based off of the Iraq War (thank Call of Duty for that). It makes me surprised that wars from the 1700s through 1800s don't get much attention. There should really be more games based off of them aside from Sid Meier's Civil War.
Note: It crashes alot on windows 7 on some map, or just my system. I can run other mods great, but you might want to check that out. My system: Hp pavilion elite HPE windows7 64bit. Good budget pc, very impressive for 800. (some 1500 pcs are slower and worse, honestly.)
Most probably it's your system. I heard others with 64bit Win 7's had the same problem. I have a 32 bit, and no problems whatsoever...

To install BG2 2.1.1, simply download Source SDK 2007 base, then the BG2 installer via ModDB. Install it as you would with a normal game and enjoy the mod.
