Hope you are ready for a lo-ong shift...

Barney's Tales is a total conversion of the original Half-Life Blue Shift add-on. Source Engine, used in mod, will allow us to visit the world of the scary Black Mesa Research Facility once more.
Security officer Barney Calhoun, undecided major, was going on his first shift in a research facility. He put on his uniform, got his Glock-18 in the armory and set out for the Sector 3. Suddenly, Barney felt an explosion and the lift he was going by fell down. Next thing he saw when consciousness returned was a strange alien creature tearing a scientist.
With the personnel and security officers at his side Barney must escape the Black Mesa before it becomes a blazing crater...

The development team is working at some innovations of Barney's Tales:

  • Authentic weapon firing simulation and iron sights aiming system;
  • Close to real models of HECU soldiers – including uniform and gear;
  • Weapon models created according to existing samples;
  • Realistic player camera and footsteps simulation;
  • Vehicles added - player would be able to drive some;
  • Calculation of character’s stock power amount;
  • Lots of tasks involving physics;
  • Improved enemy AI;
  • HDR-lighting;
  • Rather than in the original Blue Shift the storyline is presented in another view;

  • Expanded plot, even new chapters are added;
  • Multiplayer mode.

I wish to inform you with pleasure that the new version of our website is working properly at last and you won’t be staring at a stupid “Coming Soon” inscription anymore. Unfortunately, working on it is not finished yet, and there are some lacks which will be corrected in the nearest future. But I wanted to draw your attention not only to the site. Since the last updating in August, 2007 so much has happened in life of Immersion Mod Studio. There were both rises and fallings. It would be desirable to tell, that during the last year we have pretty grown as a development team. We have established release deadlines (currently, Q4 2008 - Q1 2009), have finally shared the jobs in project; have begun content improvement. So good luck to us!

Within this summer there was a new rise, but by the end of year the project was suffering from the new recession. The forum was not updated, and other developers kept silence. In December we decided to make reorganization. But, it happens, everything ended right after discussion, and instead some of benevolent players began to criticize. The modification went on going down lower and lowers...

And then something important happened: we were woken up and given new stimulus for working. Thanks to ModDB site and their annual award MOTY - somehow the project has made its way into the second phase of voting (top 100), and moreover, it was brought to the top five finalists. Now I declare with pride, that Blue Shift: Source has taken the third place in “Best Unreleased Mod”! Certainly, without votes of our western fans nothing would turn out, so thank you guys!

Having learned about nomination, we decided to prepare a large enough update which, as you see, includes new screenshots and renders, absolutely new website, and even a couple of tracks from our composer!

So, that's all for now. I do not dare to hold you back for more, so welcome to the gallery. And yeah, you can leave critics in a forum topic.
Thank you for reading, watching and voting! Good luck and stay tuned!

The English version of the main site is down.
also, I like the idea of fleshing the game out, but not to much that it seems like a new game in and of itself.

Alright, Anthony I know I don't bother you because you are very busy person but can you please make a forum of Blue Shift source so that other people were known that what is going on or like to join in the group help the development to finish it quickly.
