BANZAI! is a modification for the game Unreal Tournament 2004.
It aims to be a simple, fun and easy to play game while bringing back the good old fashioned ’side-scroller’ gameplay. Inspired by many different side-scrolling games of old such as Castlevania, Contra, Ninja Gaiden, and Megaman, BANZAI! is a hail back to the old glorious days of 8-bit and 16-bit gaming.
This however does not mean we are limiting the game to the "old school" looks. Our team works hard at creating something that's not only fun to play but also pleasing to the eye.
If you like sidescroller platform games, anime-ish looks (and perhaps even a few puzzle elements ;) )
Then this mod might be something to try out.

Team banzai has had its fair share of ups and far too many downs, due to facts most fans will already be aware of.
That being the unavoidable fact, that the original leader, Jaytwitch, disappeared off the face of the universe and has been pronounced (rightly so) "retired" by the new leader Suzumiya.
His sudden evaporation left team Banzai in a dire position, without lead nor code no progress could be taken seriously if even thought of at all, most of the team eventually wanting to stop making the mod and move on.
However, thanks to the appointing of a new leader and the arrival of the promising new programming talents Drakk Lord and Buzz, we can all move on from the disappointments of the past and move on finaly getting done what was started long ago.
