Back2Fronts is an extensive mod that will overhaul your Call of Duty 2 game to a next level. This mod brings more variety, intensity, realism and battle-like experience. Try new weapons, fight new enemies, fulfil new missions and explore new options. Mod is SP and MP friendly (although primary part is SP).
Here is a video preview of the knife attack that replaces regular melee bash for scoped weapons.
Is it JUST for scoped weapons?
yes.
It would be nice for pistols too, i mean you cant kill a soldier by beating him with a pistol, its too light and small
Can't kill a soldier with a pistol bash you say? Really? Try this test at home: take a 1kilogram hammer (average weight of WW2 pistol). Then choose a target (for example a brick). And now strike it with the wooden handle of the hammer. And you will clearly see that the brick will be broken by your strikes. Now only imagine that instead of the brick it is enemys head.
anim is perfect, and the stabbing looks awesome...
Thanks!
These 2 little animations took quite a lot of time. It looks simple at first sight but the timing was pain.
When the character picks up a scoped weapon does he get the knife of the weapon's nationality?
yes.
I'm sorry, but I don't really like CoD's knifing. I mean, seriously, you're in a warzone, with a rifle, you come up close to an enemy, first thing that comes to your mind is to shoot. If that fails, you bash him with your rifle. Although bloody and cool, knifing isn't realistic with a primary weapon.
In my opinion, it should be implemented only with pistols where your strong hand, with the pistol, rests on your other, which has the knife.
Maybe that posture was thought of years later, but that is the only case where I can see a knife being used immediately.
Sorry for that. But it's your mod, do what you want :)
My point is that bashing with scoped weapon is nonsense because you will damage your scope or your scope's zeroing. But I didn't want to cancel the melee attack for snipers so I decided to equip them with knives.
Sorry for being so critical.
