Back to the Future: Liberty City is an Addon mod for Grand Theft Auto III. Back to the Future: Liberty City will be based on the Back to the Future Trilogy, allowing the player to re-enact all the great moments from the films. While some parts of the story are stretched to make it more enjoyable, we are determined not to stray too far from the original story-line. The people behind this mod want the community to relive the movies and have as much fun in the process as possible. With the outstanding game play of the Sandbox hit, Grand Theft Auto III, in combination with one of the best movies of all time, Back to the Future, this mod is sure to bring countless hours of fun to anyone who enjoyed the movies.

Some of the Features that will be in Back to the Future: Liberty City are:

  • 8 different eras of Hill Valley: 0000, 1885, 1931, 1955, 1985, 2015, 2552, and Alternative 1985.
  • Cutscene and Instant Time Travel
  • New effects and sounds to accompany the time travel sequences
  • Flying Hover mode for the Cars of the future.
  • Reenactments of scenes from the films.
  • A Remote Controlled Delorean
  • Multiplayer

A lot of people have expressed interest in seeing the current build or 1.1B , as well. No problem. We'll upload our current build for you to try out as soon as we can see the alpha builds for Portal 3, Halo 6, Crysis 4, and Skyrim 3. C'mon guys. There's a reason why major studios don't give players the inside scoop during development. Alpha builds are ugly, and they turn players off more often than on. Our alpha build looks particularly terrible (considering there's almost nothing time travel related in it.), and it will continue to look that way until we've finished Recoding and redesigning everything.
1.1B is being developed from the ground up, almost all of the mechanics from 1.1A are being revamped, you can call 1.1A the testing build as we released it to receive feedback from people who before didn't have very many choices in back to the future mods, after watching what people did in the game, the features they liked, things they didn't like and what people would like improved in the next release we sat down to rework what we thought about current generation back to the future mods, 1.1B is turning into more of a game than a mod every day, as we have to continue making innovations to keep the Back to the future feel, we are basically just borrowing the render-ware engine from grand theft auto III to make a game on top of, our map developer is trying to capture the essence of not just the town center but the entire town of hill valley, we know you don't like waiting and all you want to do is play, and we know that mod development takes years to do for such a small team, but you have to remember that this is not our primary jobs , some of us are attending school, college and full time jobs, we work on the game when we feel like it, but don't worry this mod will never die, it might get put on hold a few times here and there but we will never stop working on it until its done, thank you all for your amazing support , you are the best fans we could ever ask for. stay tuned! - ~Leaf~

Yeah! It just fit the whole trailer scene. It looked JUST like a scene from BTTF! Nervous Marty looks at the speedo, looks up, looks at the speedo again- and it hits 88! lol! XD Also, just curious, what would the size of the file be, Rave? My speed's really slow. Highest: 39.4 kB/s.

Can't. F***ing. Wait. One thing I haven't seen though, was the DeLorean's cooling after temporal displacement. Pics if you've done it?

Cooling looks cool, but the vents look accurate. I hope you guys'd be able to get the paintjob to be the layer of ice like uokka did- probably won't be possible in GTA III though, would it? Busy counting down the days...
