How can i make the fire trails longer? i know that this question has been already answered... |
||
Aug 25 2007 Anchor | ||
coding. But, if you do make it any longer, because of the speed of the engine, only the first say third of the fire trail will be visible, which is a lot less then what we have now. Too many particles confuses vc. |

thanks delorean |

There's about 62 individual fire particles in the current fire trail. i tried 100. It was horrible. The early ones always appear. The later ones flash on and off. |
||
Aug 25 2007 Anchor | ||
...yes.I know what you mean. My pc is the slowest on earth, so sometimes the plasma trails flash.... |
||
Aug 25 2007 Anchor | ||
So yeah, sticking with current length for the sake of most slower computers |

Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
hey, how do u make fire trails longer explain to me thanks |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
it's all coding, and adding anymore will cause the fire trails not to appear correctly. Read the thread next time. |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
no i mean how do u add more?? |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
which line in particle.cfg to change is it |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
it's a main.scm coding thing, nothing in the particle.cfg will change the length. Just the size, color, lifespan, etc of the individual particles. |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
so how do u make it longer like i mean where in the main.scm |
||

And you're willing to give up the current firetrails for crap ones that only show the first quarter of it that aren't even long enough to be even considered fire trails? I'll show you an example of what happens when fire trails become too long if you wish. Edited by: Delorean88us |

ok cool |

Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
Yeah, pick your poison. |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
I think they're fine the way they look. Nothing like bttf3, but it's good enough for the first time travel experiment fire trails. |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
can u think of any reason why my flying delorean fire trails are longer than my driven ones, or is my computer just weird? |
||
Aug 26 2007 Anchor | ||
it just seems longer because the bottom half the fire trails aren't stuck in the ground like the driving one. |
||
Aug 27 2007 Anchor | ||
yeah but when its raining it does that one third thing to the fire trails |
||
Aug 27 2007 Anchor | ||
which is why i'm not adding anymore length to it. |
