Hey delorean, while i was scrolling down the main.scm file i found the "Liftbel.wav" line. How can i make the playing time longer, e.g to 0:23 instead of 0:5 sec?

why would you want to? its the steam coming out the rear vents sound. extending it would make a really weird result

i want to add the capacitor discharge sound after the ejection of steam.

add a wait of 20000 or something before unloading the wave file. Funny how all these people are making these changes, but once 0.2d comes out, most of them won't work since I will be restructuring the entire time travel code, and variables will change names.

sounds good. I don't like making changes. So, only a suggestion : while the delorean is frozen, after the steam ejection you could add the capacitor discharge sound to make it more similar to the movie.

so what sound?

This one: Mediafire.com
(Note : after downloading, skip with the cursor after the steam ejection sound)

ok, i'll add the sound for the frozen delorean part. It'll only play when you see the stuff come off.

Question, did you do anything to the original sound file? It sounds like at the end it kinda cut or something, like if you edited it or the camera changed angles.

yes, i edited it.

Aug 31 2007, 1:49pm Anchor

no wonder. It sounds a bit off at the end.

Aug 31 2007, 1:51pm Anchor

Yeah. You could also edit it to make it better.

Aug 31 2007, 2:06pm Anchor

i'll do that. Did you loop it over two times or something?

Aug 31 2007, 2:59pm Anchor

Actually, now if I put that in, what happens if you time travel again? Because I'm only allowed 2 sounds at once, there's going to be a confliction between the cold, steam, and the spark sounds. So unless I have some kind of discharge period that won't allow any time travel stuff to happen for like a few minutes or so, sounds will be weird.

well... a discharge period won't hurt anybody, since the bttf1 delo is kinda "fragile". And i doubt that you can time travel when the delo is still frozen. so you could add a dishcharge period for cooling the delo and it could add a bit of realism
