Back to the Future: Hill Valley is a full conversion mod for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Back to the Future: Hill Valley will be based on the Back to the Future Trilogy, allowing the player to re-enact all the great moments from the films. While some parts of the story are stretched to make it more enjoyable, we are determined not to stray too far from the original story-line. cool. thanks. btw, i noticed some reflection on the hood or the model. the black paint on griff's car is matte therefore there shouldnt be any reflection. the red paint however is gloss.

That I know, however the way the model is unwrapped sort of prevents me from doing the matte and gloss together.

EDIT: I took a look at the model and I may be able to do that for the sides but not the hood though. The polygons on the blower make it too complicated.

Well the only thing I can do is test it out. If it works in game then it works if not oh well. The only thing I'm worried about now is that the car works in the game with little flaws. I'll worry about the correctness of the paint job after.

I can't do San Andreas since I don't have the game to test it out on. However if you know someone who would convert the car to SA format I'd let them do it as long as I get the credit and such.

just want to say somthing about that horse idea. i cant replace sounds so if you do that the horse will sound like a bike lol but im sure i will find a way to replace em somehow.

SFX that is for the passive engine could like a horse standing and making some sounds. SFX that is for slow going and running could be like a horse going slow and running respectively. I think Stopping SFX should be accompained by something like BRRR! In russia We say Noo, Stoy, but I don't know how you do...

horses will be extremely buggy, thats for sure. Gearing up horse shoe sounds, as well as tire sounds when stopping, legs not moving right, and horses that never run away.

If you really look at it they don't use horses much in the film anyway. The only key parts would be when Clara is supposed to fall in the ravine and when they chase the train. Really the only alternatives I can think of would be to do some sort of peddling type buggy, like a 4 wheeled bike, or a small steam powered car. However the steam powered car wouldn't really fit with the time period.

Yeah that is true, I have a feeling 1885 is going to give us a real challenge. I guess the only real alternative is to just have everyone walk everywhere. We could do horses but they'd have no sound for gearing up and such, and since we really can't animate the legs they'd just be floating by.

i got a idea if this is possable. for that bit where clara is on the wagon heading towards the cliff you could just show the wagon so it looks like theres horses in front of it but really there isnt. and for the bit where doc and marty are chasing after the train you could make marty riding the bike and doc standing on the back like a bmx. but then again you cant ride as fast as a train

That idea with the wagon would probably work. As for the train part, well maybe instead of chasing it there could be a train robbery in progress in which the train is stopped already so all Doc and Mary do is steal... borrow the engine that way. Now this leads into a problem with Clara and how she is to get on the train again.
