Back to the Future: Hill Valley is a full conversion mod for Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Back to the Future: Hill Valley will be based on the Back to the Future Trilogy, allowing the player to re-enact all the great moments from the films. While some parts of the story are stretched to make it more enjoyable, we are determined not to stray too far from the original story-line. i have a request..i think its been mentioned before, but is it posible to change the car of the delorean because it sometimes seems 'too easy' to time travel , and you get to 88 far too quickly. i dunno bout anyone else, but part of the tension and excitement for me is the struggle to time travel, atm all you need is about 100 metres of road. it would be great if it slowly built up as it does in the film (not flying) so that it almost just reaches a ultimum speed of 88 if you know what i mean....anyways thanks for hearing me out

speed and acceleration is weird in vc. Fast speed depends on high acceleration and, ironically enough, high weight. Then there's the problem of other cars out accelerating the delorean. Want to keep cop chases as fun as possible without having them hit your car every two seconds.

maybe you can change de delorean sound on ground and flying(accelerating, idle etc...) to be more like a delorean? you can hear de difference in the film when the delorean accelerates and you'll know what i mean.

yeah but it sounds like it was put together on the infernus sounds. what i meant was that if it would be cool to have the actual sounds of a real delorean. if it's possible

it's quite hard, since there's i think 4 total sounds for it, to get the exact same thing as in the movie. for myself, the sound of decelerating on the flying delo kinda bugs me too... sounds kinda like when you time travel you know what i mean? but hey, it's already good to have something that's close to it considering the limited VC possibilities...

for the handling, i think it's great on all points except maybe when it comes to turning and accelerating. tends to do a 180 you know... gotta let go of that gas o_0

flying's harder. You get only two sounds.

Oh yeah, the handling thing is kinda intentional. Fishtailing you know. Heavy back end, especially with all that stuff. And it's not like you can like control how hard you accelerate, unless you got a controller.

yeah i get ya... just gotta get use to it. after a while playing i'm getting the hang of it :D

i'm just wondering, is there a way to make the hover mode a little more less "straight" if you know what i mean? more like a helicopter that just took off or like that Harrier in SA.. give it a floating effect? as to the acceleration to make it like if there was friction and when you let go of the gas the speed would go down?

well pretty much. i can think right off the bat about a "strafe" control. basically hovering sideways without changing the position of the delo. i really dunno if it's possible cause i have no idea how the hover mode is coded, but i know i'd like it :)

i could make it work for the delo, but not the train. Using the look left and right buttons that don't work on the delorean to do that.

that'd be great. i could care less about the train strafing right now, but it would definately gives more appeal to the handling of the Delorean. for manoeuvring in tight corners or whatever.... just think about how you'd turn a corner on a first-person shooter game.... i would use the strafing and turning to see on the other side of that corner the fastest possible. it would seriously make it great to have a floating effect to the whole thing too.

you can't mod particle lifespans, can't change how it is affected by motion, random appearances, and then modding sound's even harder. Specifically, graphical effects won't be as great or accurate as in vc.

nope. All hardcoded. It's not as if R* modded their own game. They upgraded parts of it. Just look at the physics between the two games. Big difference. Standing on a vehicle use to be impossible.

and actually having the harrier wouldnt get rid of all problems. i tried replacing the harrier with the flying delo and it crashes the game. it would need editing
