That may stir strong memories, as it was the text that McQueen spoke in the intro against the back screen of the colony ship and its destruction by the chig forces... a very powerful moment. One that is also re-constructed through the mercury engine in the opening cut-scene sequence to B : SAAB.

Though the series only lasted one season, it has gained a cult following and now is still re-run on the Sci Fi networks. SAAB was a milestone for its time in terms of graphics and space drama. Its own producers wanted to show a vision of "ww2 in space", and we felt that the mercury engine could help portray this vision, and that this was the correct medium in which to portray the vasteness of SAAB.

Space Above and Beyond was a TV series which aired in the 1990's, which was, imo, the greatest sci-fi series of all time. It had a dark edge to it which nothing could come close. SAAB follows a squad of marines called the 58th Wildcard Squadron from their Hammerhead fighters, right down into the frontlines combat on alien worlds. The mod follows this Storyline from the series, and even includes cut-scenes from the actual TV show rendered through Mercury.

The SAAB team is lead by me. I am Axl Wolff, and my own mod team TGU, previously worked on various Homeworld mods. Furthermore my team has also recently merged with a team lead by Luke Crossley a.k.a Venom from Steel Warriors and the popular Defence Alliance team, where he worked with the elements of the B : SAAB concept and development team. In time, you will get to see some eye candy from his teams artist, Real Courtemanche. His team has had some impressive titles under their belt, and has come from the Unreal Tournament, and BREED mod scene to join up with us. We also have star power in our corner, as FenrisWolf, who works for Brat, and concept artists such as GhostGirl from www.ghostgirl.net who are both on our team. Audio is being handled by SpaceOpera Studios, an award winning audio studio who have worked on such titles as Kings Quest X, and exclusive hosting of the mod will be done through www.breedfiles.com.

Greets!
Big news everyone! Last night we finished the permission form negotiation with Thursday from H:SAAB. Thursday was the creator of several models upon which we will base our modifications on for our own breed models. Included are the light tank, the bomber, the chig fighter, and others. Now that we have permission we will begin to assemble a list of modifications that will be required to allow these units to "live" in our own engine's world. This will include a slight remodel to higher poly, adding Breed Physics Scripting (something required as breed has an interesting system regarding their aircraft engine thrust and movement in general), giving each unit more detail (i.e moving turrets, working doors, working landing gear), and all new textures. Work shall begin within the next week on these models and will be completed by SABIN, a team of 13 modelers to whome we have planned to outsource these models. The SABIN team are currently awaiting HW2, and in the mean time they are hooked on to us as our outsource modeler team that we can send our models for revision!

Furthermore we have exciting news regarding Thursday. He has plans on creating a high poly "flagship" model for the chig faction, that being the chig fighter. A completely new unit from the SAAB master, who could ask for more! As the chig fighter is featured most prominantly in this mod, this is indeed amazing news and we are all jumping up and down here!
