Lol, would be funny if you could simply have a train running around the map wherever you wanted, maybe using whatever logic the truck/trailers use.

railway tracks are purely cosmetic in this game. they're non blocking objects and there's nothing to stop the rail car from moving off the tracks.

trains just sit there for the time being. you could make the move by using a sequence of triggers in the map editor. but that's more effort than most people will want to do.

there's only two ways I can think of to make a train. create a new special regiment layout that's designed around the idea. this would still have the problem of behaving like a regular vehicle regiment. it might look good most of the time. but the second the regiment makes a change of direction all of the train cars would uncouple, realign, and then eventually come back together. this would mean that unless your railroad tracks were only in straight lines or extremely shallow curves that the trains wouldn't animate properly. if we're stuck with straight lines it's easier to simply use existing area-based triggers in the game editor.

the other idea is by using trailers and trailer hitches. if it's possible to create a supply truck with a line of attached trailers then you could theoretically make a train. but when I tried adding multiple trailers the game crashed. it's something I've left on the back burner for now.

(the main point of the screencap was to show off two new types of railcar)

Hm...then I think it would be better if you left the train stationary and serve like strongpoint like cities which give controlling player resources boots, and some gun fire!

Description

theharkonnen has found a way to add armored trains to the roster of units. here a group of Yugoslav infantry regiment is attempting to destroy a stationary German train. we'll be adding flat cars loaded up with ammo, oil, and supply crates which can be destroyed. once destroyed players will gain some money as they normally would from destroying depots. I'd also like to point out the new Panzer 38t flatbed trucks directly in front of the turreted flatcar.
