So we want to bring Team Fortress to AvP2. It shouldn't be too difficult, all of the weapons we need are already in AvP2, and configuring armor and run speeds and whatnot isn't too hard. What we need, however, is input on how this should go down, and modders to make the more difficult things happen, like possibly adding new weapons and more importantly, new GAME MODES, like Capture the Flag or Assault, things that teams do that aren't Team Deathmatch. However, this is AvP2 Fortress, so everything should have an AvP2 twist to it. Like Preds and Aliens on the teams realistically, but not whorishly. No Predator rocket-launcher guys, for example, but a Predator as the Spy, a class that's supposed to cloak and primarily use a knife anyway. -- SMID
Ok, we did more than several tweaks. This resulted in one of the best test session from AvP2TF history.

Ok, so we did more than a couple of tweaks, and the test session was indeed one of the better ones. Similar to one from 2009-02-14. As the e-mail that was sent to our testers said, we wanted to test how the gameplay will be changed by the following:
From our list of videos we have selected two of them:
In this one, both flag carriers just rush past each other. Which is funny, because I expected one of them to attack the other. I later found out that Moose (the sniper from the same team as me) was out of ammo. I still don't know however why didn't the runner attack Moose: I think it could have retrieved it's own flag and still make it out alive with ours. The next one shows yours trully backing up Moose:
What happened there is that Moose managed to steal the blue flag. He had a runner on his tail, so I had to do something, because a runner could easily reach Moose and turn him into minced meat. Later on, Moose told me that he had absolutely no thought of ever turning around and shoot the alien. We were both lucky, since luck is involved in long range sniping with a ballistic weapon.
Meanwhile, if you want to see everything I recorded (about 15 minutes worth of video) you can do it here:
So, there you have it. The result of our public beta; yes we are now running public beta tests.
We'll keep these changes, since they didn't affect the gameplay in a negative way. And seeing tracers heading your way is, well, exciting. It does add a bit of adrenalin to the game.
