A slightly sad message for you today - Avalon has stopped production until the release of UT3. Without giving you a full blown post mortem, we have had a few troubles with team morale and organisation over the past few months, which has led me to step down as project manager. The good news is that it's not over - the team leads will be putting their heads together and hashing out a much more fun, focused game. Once we have a clearer picture of the game both in art and words, we feel production will run alot smoother. Thanks for various peoples' support over this time, especially the team. Get in touch if you'd like to stick with us in a few months time.

Alot's been happening at Avalon since we announced ourselves here on ModDB. First up is our decision to develop now for the UE3 engine, which will be powering Epic's new game UT2k7. Given our game's outdoor setting and large scale, we decided that UE3 technology suited us better than trying to modify Source for our needs. Unfortunately this has come at the price of sadly losing our mapper, Snah - we wish him the best of luck in his future projects :) Work now begins on setting up our code framework in UT2k4, ready for the switch to UE3 when it is released late this year.

We also have a new website (just about) ready to show everyone - Avalon-mod.com! There is a more detailed and in-depth description of the Avalon gameplay and story there, although unfortunately our image gallery has been postponed. You can still check out our ModDB gallery though right here.

Speaking of which, here are a couple more WIP concepts for you to have a look at.
