Time to start the wandering, stalker...

Autumn Aurora 2 has been released!

The second version of the Autumn Aurora brings the autumnal atmosphere to the Zone and totally overhauls the graphics, sound and gameplay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl. The mod is built on the newest Zone Reclamation Project's core, it contains official AtmosFear for ShoC which has never been released before. AtmosFear has been extensively redesigned to match the autumn style.
It also holds an official new Absolute Nature for ShoC (never released as standalone as well) with new tree models from AN3 CoP and some new ones.

It is the perfect opportunity for every S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan to immerse again into Chernobyl universe in completely different style this time.

The Zone calls again...

The only bad thing is that my game always crashes on quickloading in Yantar.
Not in other zones though.
I've read about the problem and I always get backup saves through save menu, but this still makes me cringe a little.

For example, there's some boxes in the junkyard in Garbage that should have dropped at least some 9x18mm ammo but instead just rained bottles of vodka onto my head.

Because some clown has stolen the ammo and put vodka there :)

But seriously, to make the ammo scarce at the beginning so it's little harder to get it. Not just having 1000s of bullets at the start. Later on the next levels the boxes will have the usual content.

If I wanted to tweak this a bit, where should I start? I'm fine with not having 1000 9x18mm ammo rain on my head, for example, but at least a little bit of ammo would be nice.

You'd need to edit spawn. And start a new game after that.

I'm loving the mod so far, but I'm curious about how much cut content you added back in for NPCs.

I've seen mutant Cats and a few rat NPCs around, and I also saw a Phantasm which made images of a classic Zombie NPC. However I haven't seen any Tarks, Zombies, or Burers anywhere out in the Zone yet (though I'm still very early in the game).

Did you add all the cut NPCs into the mod? If so that's amazing!

youll find the burer eventually and i DID not expect them at all, they're also MUCH tougher than in call of pripyat too

I've poked around through the mod files and it does look like Burers, at least, get added in.

If I recall correctly, they mostly show up in Dark Valley.

While it's a great idea, there are many many flaws that make it a Misery (AKA unfun mod)for SoC. 1) The Grenade Damage and Range, way too high and ridiculous, IRL I could throw a grenade into a room, and stand to the side of the door, and survive with no injuries, in AA2, I can't be within 50m of it or I die. 2) The lack of visibility, yeah I get it "Muh immersion" but the bullshit that stems from being shot from places you can't see, even if you look directly at them, is ridiculous.
