Time to start the wandering, stalker...

Autumn Aurora 2 has been released!

The second version of the Autumn Aurora brings the autumnal atmosphere to the Zone and totally overhauls the graphics, sound and gameplay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl. The mod is built on the newest Zone Reclamation Project's core, it contains official AtmosFear for ShoC which has never been released before. AtmosFear has been extensively redesigned to match the autumn style.
It also holds an official new Absolute Nature for ShoC (never released as standalone as well) with new tree models from AN3 CoP and some new ones.

It is the perfect opportunity for every S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan to immerse again into Chernobyl universe in completely different style this time.

The Zone calls again...

My only critique would be that there is really little variety in the guns that NPCs carry. Virtually every NPC from every faction carries a Warsaw pact weapon (anything that shoots 5.45x39 or 9x39) or a shotgun. I have only encountered two NPCs carrying a NATO weapon (anything that shoots 5.56x45), and that was a merc with a G36 at the Army Warehouses and a merc with an FN2000 at Wild Territory.

NATO weapons need love too. Is there anyway you can work in a system where weapons like the ZM LR300, SIG 550, FN2000 and G36 are a bit more widespread? Maybe have a certain faction carry NATO weapons, or a combination of both?

Hi. Firstly I have one question. Did you played on 2.1 version? If yes, how many CTD's you had? It's information just for us.

About weapons - it was our purpose to make the Russian weapons more common than NATO but it was only our vision. You can edit it for your needs in simple, but a bit time-consuming way.

Open Config/Gameplay directory and then for example: character_desc_stalker.xml

You can find here all weaponry assigned to Stalkers, their ranks etc. You can play with it and replace all their equipment. Do it analogously with rest of the files. For example, file character_desc_sarcofag. It means that it concerns Monolithians in Sarcophagus. Remember that each change requires a new game.

I'm playing the version right before 2.1 (I can't remember what it was because I'm not on my PC at the moment). As for CTDS - The very first time I installed and ran this mod, I was at the point in the game where I was doing quests for freedom in Army Warehouses. I would then CTD everytime I would try to leave that level (either go to the Bar or Red Forest), so I was basically stuck there.

I read somewhere that this mod may have issues with having too many random missions/quests in your PDA and that may cause CTDs on level change.

So the second time I reinstalled this mod and played through it while keeping my mission/quest log to a minimum (barely accepting any quests from Barkeep, etc.), and I have had ZERO CTDs.

Thanks for feedback. In 2.1 we've fixed these CTD's and we suspect that your game should be stable now even with more tasks in PDA.

This time I even unpacked all the game files, replaced them with the mods gamedata and packed everything back to .db archives to save space (no original level files or other unused stuff). I got game taking 7GB space instead of 10-11 and I use it on my RamDisk - totally lag free experience!

New weapon sprinting animations are lame compared to the old ones. New animations don't match step sounds which makes it look like player takes 3 steps and moves the gun only one time which is not how people move their hands while running.

Someone please upload v 2.04 meshes for weapons and post link. Thx!

great work AA team. i have noticed many changes positive changes, things dont drop through roof/texture. npcs use grenades :D weapons doesnt disappear. and many many more like fps increase.

Great mod! Really light for my PC (Q6600, 6GB RAM, HD5770). Spent over 10 hours stalking, zero crashes, less stuttering than vanilla. I really like new weapons, animations and sounds. BUT, dat LR300 sprinting animations look really lame. Is it possible to merge files, let's say from KingFriday's SRAP mod? Can I just copy KingFriday's meshes and config files, and edit weapon specs (damage, rate of fire, accuracy) in config file to match yours? I don't want to try it 'till you guys give me your blessings :D Also, I'd like to change the ACOG scope to default SUSAT, if possible. If you can you can send me PM.
Other stuff are just amazing. Hunger, armor masks, NPC models, weather, music, background sounds, sleeping areas, stamina drain, bug fixes...
AK and AN animations are just awesome...

Damn, can't get it to work. I've replaced meshes folder LR300, config file lr_300.ltx and sound folder LR300, but game crashes on load. Any clue why?

Groza has no modified animations and model from AA2's beginning, G36 it has. If you have package with 2.04 version, just use these files:


Old texture of G36 should be already in AA2.1 directory. I can't send you files from 2.04 because I've lost the files. I have only fresh 2.1 release. You have to looking for it.

While it's a great idea, there are many many flaws that make it a Misery (AKA unfun mod)for SoC. 1) The Grenade Damage and Range, way too high and ridiculous, IRL I could throw a grenade into a room, and stand to the side of the door, and survive with no injuries, in AA2, I can't be within 50m of it or I die. 2) The lack of visibility, yeah I get it "Muh immersion" but the bullshit that stems from being shot from places you can't see, even if you look directly at them, is ridiculous.
