Autumn Aurora 2 has been released!



The second version of the Autumn Aurora brings the autumnal atmosphere to the Zone and totally overhauls the graphics, sound and gameplay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl. The mod is built on the newest Zone Reclamation Project's core, it contains official AtmosFear for ShoC which has never been released before. AtmosFear has been extensively redesigned to match the autumn style.
It also holds an official new Absolute Nature for ShoC (never released as standalone as well) with new tree models from AN3 CoP and some new ones.

It is the perfect opportunity for every S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan to immerse again into Chernobyl universe in completely different style this time.

The Zone calls again...

I'm seeing mentions of too many active quests crashing the game. Has this been fixed in 2.1 or is it something I will have to actively manage? If the latter, what's a safe number of active quests?

Haven't you seen the warning in 2.1 installer?
Keep it below 6-7 and you should be fine. Note that it still could happen even with minimal number of quests. Make a lot of hard saves just in case.

I'll stop being so eager about deleting past saves. I found this post on how to disable dynamic quests which seems like a good fallback to permit progress even if the issue does occur: Reddit.com

Atmosfear 3 is an amazing weather mod, thanks for your work on it. Autumn Aurora 2 in general is the most atmospheric and beautiful game I've played I think. Plenty of jaw-dropping, let me stop and smell the roses moments while roaming around the Zone with this mod. The lighting engine in the base game is so good, as is the brooding, ruined soviet architecture. AA2 complements all of the existing brilliance so bloody well! This is far higher quality than most AAA games.

Look at the map when a blowout starts. Places you can hide are marked during the blowout.

Looks like ZRP's scripts are in place for some of this, actually. At least the weapon tossing one is...

No it is not. The files that this exe modifies have been further tweaking by us. Using that exe will most likely break the mod.

You'd need to run this modifier on some ZRP alone and then compare the files with the AA2.1 ones.

Question: I don't get any beeping near anomalies at all. I assumed this was because this mod adds detectors, but I now have the Echo detector and I still get no beeping near anomalies. I can detect artifacts by equipping the detector and switching to the bolt (6) but I get no beeps for anomalies.

Is this intended behavior or a bug in my game?

Ignore this, please. It's working now that I did a full re-install and also deleted the stalker-shoc directory that has user.ltx and old save files.

Very cool, was really looking forward to playing this mod!

By 'it's woking' you mean you have beeps on anomalies? That shouldn't happen. Detectors in AA2 does not detect the anomalies. Artifacts only.

Now I get the beeping sound *without* a detector when I walk up to an anomaly, just like in the base game. I wasn't earlier, but that was probably because I didn't go a clean reinstall of ShoC before installing this mod (I was running ZRP + your wonderful texture mods + SWO + ShadersMax). Everything's looking good now, though.

Atmosfear is leaps ahead of SWO, it'd be wonderful to have it as a standalone along with the enhanced Absolute Nature you have here. Probably too much work, though. Thanks much for this mod!

Edit: the beeping sound exactly as in the beginning of the video on this page, that is. No detector, but anomaly nearby.

Ah, OK, got it. Ye, that's just normal nearby anomaly detection sound. Just like in vanilla.

While it's a great idea, there are many many flaws that make it a Misery (AKA unfun mod)for SoC. 1) The Grenade Damage and Range, way too high and ridiculous, IRL I could throw a grenade into a room, and stand to the side of the door, and survive with no injuries, in AA2, I can't be within 50m of it or I die. 2) The lack of visibility, yeah I get it "Muh immersion" but the bullshit that stems from being shot from places you can't see, even if you look directly at them, is ridiculous.
