Time to start the wandering, stalker...


Autumn Aurora 2 has been released!



The second version of the Autumn Aurora brings the autumnal atmosphere to the Zone and totally overhauls the graphics, sound and gameplay of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl. The mod is built on the newest Zone Reclamation Project's core, it contains official AtmosFear for ShoC which has never been released before. AtmosFear has been extensively redesigned to match the autumn style.
It also holds an official new Absolute Nature for ShoC (never released as standalone as well) with new tree models from AN3 CoP and some new ones.

It is the perfect opportunity for every S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fan to immerse again into Chernobyl universe in completely different style this time.

The Zone calls again...

So I encountered a problem ... suddenly the time limit changes from usually 1-3 (or something) days to "1 months remaining" for all sidequests o.O When I load an older savegame, it's back to normal. But after I received the mission to go to the garbage to meet someone the time limit changes to 1 month.

It is a bit harder than the regular version, but not a lot. I think that for an experienced STALKER-player, the difficulty is pretty much perfect at "master". Certain places will be quite difficult (like in Agroprom), but these places SHOULD be difficult. You can change the difficulty at any time during the game, so this is a non-issue anyway.

Thanks, I'm playing currently on master and it's great. I finished the game before 5 years ago on vanilla and Complete 2009. AA2 is so much better, I love it :)

Well, it's not one of those hard-I-am-a-masohist-core mods. It's more challenging but not insane difficult. The difficulty mostly comes from a lack of resources like food, guns or ammo. The fight is also more challenging, but in a good way. Sometimes it requires scouting or stealth. You can't just run'n'gun.

Why not to test yourself? If you can't beat your opponents, you can always lower the difficulty level in the options.

The installation went well however I am receiving CTD in the loading screen after clicking New Game. I uninstalled AA2 and the vanilla version loads properly.I've read the readme and FAQ. After looking into this a little bit more, changing the lighting from Static to Fully Dynamic corrected the CTD upon starting a new game. Hopefully this helps someone else!

You had to tick the radio button to agree that you will read them but you haven't anyway.

Would love to run it with AA2 + ENB + SweetFX @1080p without jagged and pixelated edges ..

I have a 27ยด 1440p IPS screen, and using the standard SweetFX Configurator setting with SMAA, STALKER looks brilliant in my opinion...

My nativ resolution is 1080p, downsampling to 2160p looks perfect, all others like 1440p looks distorted, I don't know why. SMAA does nearly nothing to me.

TBH, I've never managed to make AA work properly in any Stalker. You'll have to live with that ;)

Stunning graphics and game design, the autumn environments look crisp and natural. A fantastic mod for Shoc that succesfully introduces an alternative art direction...

While it's a great idea, there are many many flaws that make it a Misery (AKA unfun mod)for SoC. 1) The Grenade Damage and Range, way too high and ridiculous, IRL I could throw a grenade into a room, and stand to the side of the door, and survive with no injuries, in AA2, I can't be within 50m of it or I die. 2) The lack of visibility, yeah I get it "Muh immersion" but the bullshit that stems from being shot from places you can't see, even if you look directly at them, is ridiculous.
