Athena is a Multiplayer/Singleplayer Half-Life 2 Modification where two factions battle each other in various gamemodes set in an dystopian future.
The zones are by far the worst areas in the Athena universe. Controlled by the ADF and rundown by a constant state of war between Rebels and ADF there is hardly any population left in them. You will find Rebel strongholds in the zones more often than in other places.
Impressive work. Hope the mapper can makemit as awesome as it is. But what happened there?
An Earthquake happened and there were bootleg Athena laboratories in the vicinity. When the buildings collapsed the Athena was set free, causing numerous hotspots and making the zone largely uninhabitable.
The dirty river is a clear cut, between where rebuilding started and where the area is still contaminated and controlled by the Athena Defense Force. Two rebels are scavenging for metal parts in the abandoned buildings.
