When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the mod community, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Godwin and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
Despite outward appearances, the last few months have been extremely hard on Asylum. Command & Conquer 3 has been a less than cooperative platform for our mod. With no way to go forward or backwards, we have come to a decision that I think will be the absolute best thing in the long run. Asylum will no longer be a real-time strategy mod.
We are porting to the upcoming FPS game, Tiberium.
As such, the mod will no longer be known as Asylum. We will be changing our name to Signal to better reflect the storyline.
You are the leader of a Marine Fire Team on the border world of Tau1 Gruis, besieged on all sides by an unstoppable alien force bent on total genocide. You have no way to escape, no way to call for help, and no way to win. Your only choice is to buy the colony enough time to come up with a way to stop the invasion and warn the rest of humanity.
While still in the very early stages of development, we have many features planned:
Up to 4 players can take control of different members of the Fire Team in hybrid Commader/Squad gameplay. The Commander is in control of reinforcing and resource management, while the other squad members can command NPC reinforcements and use special powers and abilities to turn the tide against the alien forces.
Call in reinforcements dynamically to increase your firepower. Heavy battle tanks, light scout vehicles, artillery pieces, and mighty jet fighters are all available to bolster your squads and bring the fight to the enemy
Wage war across a whole planet, through burnt-out suburbs, a sprawling military base, and a massive city.
Of course, we need some things to show off. And we just happen to have them.

Why would you assume that an un-released game engine from EA would support your mod any better than what you've already got?
If it's an FPS from EA it'll probably be based on the engine used in the battlefield games, so you might want to look into the modding limitations of it's current incarnation.
actually Chrome, take a look at Renegade...even though they've been made independent, APB, Reborn, and ApocRising use Renegade's engine
ain't no limitations there...except your imagination and your coding ability
i believe we should expect the same from Tiberium and from EA (especially if they expect to keep their fanbase if everyone here catches my drift that is)

Note: The Upcoming FPS -Tiberium is going to be absolute Bollocks!..it's just Battlefield Gameplay, there is no Command and Conquer in it to be honest.

actually, Tiberium also has elements of Star Wars Republic Commando
obviously you're gonna be able to give orders to your forces...it's just that you're fighting alongside them
