Save planet Mobius from impending doom from the nefarious Ashura and Dr. Eggman and thwart the plans of the Brotherhood of Metallix. This mod is based on a darker perspective of the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. This isn't a shooter like UT2004, you will have to find objects to use, solve puzzles, and interact with a number of NPC characters to progress through the story. Experience Sonic Physics; run on walls, loops, corkscrews and on water!

We appreciate suggestions but it's simply too late to change of graphics engine; I don't think it's a good idea to delete almost 3 years of work. |

Indeed, in fact the graphics are already out of date. |

Just out of curiousity Dek... how much DOES the source code cost? I figure I can spare a donation towards it for the sake of making ADR a standalone game as long as there's no legal troubles involved - there are a LOT of people who want to play this (and I can't stress this enough, being your former PR guy and all), but can't on account of it being a TC of an existing game that's already getting somewhat difficult to find. (yes I know I'm a month late to the punch, sue me) |

Heh, no legal troubles... To make ADR standalone we need to: And if the question arises, the 'Unreal Engine 2 Runtime' software isn't enough for ADR. |

The good thing about the Unreal Engine is we can go beyond the original engines capabilities by incorperating new functions into the game. Unfortunately certain things like normal maps, can not be added as that would need to be hard coded into the engine and we dont have the money to buy the source code to do that. The game 'Pariah' also Unreal Engine 2.5 does support normal maps and video .bik files, but was created by another game development team that licensed the Unreal Engine. Shame Epicgames didnt incorperate it into Ut2004 in its last update. With darkplaces and nexuiz, you get full source code(under GPL v2), active back support( heavily development, update everyday as I use their SVN version); better graphics. Barriers to switch: old database; darkplaces use QuakeC; potential legal issue(with nexuiz it's same to a standalone game). Then, looking forward next release/demo. |
