Arx - End Of Sun is a new free and fan made game that is based on the first person dungeon RPG : Arx Fatalis developed by Arkane Studios. In our game world you will play out the events ( with a liberal dose of poetic licence ) that precede the original story of Arx Fatalis. You will no longer require a copy of Doom3 to play Arx - End Of Sun. We are now running on a custom version of the engine code and we use no assets from any commercial titles in our game.
This screenshot show the new HDR implementation on the mod. It is fully compatible with both Nvidia and Ati cards with no loss on the framerate.
You can notice also 3 new icons on the bottom left of the pic. It shows the WIP Store spell system. basicly instead of drawing always the runes to cast a spell you can memorize a max of 3 spells just like in Arx Fatalis.
Also that map is part of the upcoming Demo video.

Yes indeed. We made that map when we haven't the HDR implemented yet, so we have to remake the whole lighting of the map to fit the HDR.

Thanks for the suggestion. There is already some normal mapping on the wall texture, but it is quite subtle. We will try experementing with a more pronounced map.
There is a lot more to this map than you can see in the screen shots. We hope you will all be surprised to see all the goodies in our demo video coming soon.

I'd definitely agree that it needs to be darker, but otherwise it looks great.
