Arx - End Of Sun is a new free and fan made game that is based on the first person dungeon RPG : Arx Fatalis developed by Arkane Studios. In our game world you will play out the events ( with a liberal dose of poetic licence ) that precede the original story of Arx Fatalis. You will no longer require a copy of Doom3 to play Arx - End Of Sun. We are now running on a custom version of the engine code and we use no assets from any commercial titles in our game.
As you may or may not know, we have been seeking a creature modeller and animator for some time now. TBH we have not had much luck.
So, I have taken it upon myself to learn how to do it. Here you can see the first original animated creatures to be in the mod. Behold their splendidness.
Well... They do look like chickens. :D Hope you have luck with finding modellers and animators - this mod rocks!

Glad you like the update, not very impressive I know, and the hay bales look like lumps of rock! but I was chuffed with getting my first animated .MD5 working and wanted to share the joy :)
The plan is to start small with farm yard creatures and gradually work up to something more complicated like a snake-woman, but hopefully we can get some more skilled creature modellers on board before that becomes necessary ;)
ATM the chickens are just some .MD5 models playing a looped animation.
The next step is to complete some other animations, such as walk and peck etc. then turn it into a proper AI so it can interact and run away from the player and make clucking sounds.
Not sure about a video and how impressive it will be to see a chicken wandering around pecking?
Will we be able to transform them into roasted chickens with a fireball like we do in the original Arx Fatalis? :-)

Yes you will its already working in game! - if you kill the rats or chickens with a fireball or other heat based death then they produce cooked ribs or a roast chicken :) otherwise you just get the raw meat and have to find a fire to cook it on somewhere.
