The popular Horror shooter, Area-51 is being brought to the Source Engine. Step again into the Hazmat suit of Ethan Cole as you go on a mission through the government's most top secret base - Area 51. Accompanied by 3 HAZMATs, you make your way through the base to quarantine the deadly mutagen that infected many of the personnel of Area 51. You are soon alone, only your guns and wits to save you from what horrors await in the base...
With Source, we now have access to many features that the original Area 51 lacked. These features include, but are not limited to:
1. Superior lighting.
2. Animation blending.
3. Superb AI.
4. Proper physics.
The list goes on...
Q: Will the game have the original's story?
A: Yes; we're trying to make it as close to the original as possible.
Q: Will the game have Multiplayer?
A: Yes; the original had Multiplayer, so by all means, it will be added.
Q: How about some co-op?
A: No; the original did not have co-op, because it was meant to give the player a feeling of being alone in many situations.
Q: Are you one of the developers?
A: Yes; I'm actually the one who started the project.
Q: What additional content will be added?
A: Not much; remember that this is basically just a Source remake of the original, only with some touchups and small content addons.
Q: Will this game be available for Steam?
A: Maybe; if I can fill out the paperwork and get money, then yes. If not, then no.
Q: Will there be any additional characters?
A: No; please consult to the additional content question.
Q: Who is doing voice acting?
A: As of now, no one; but you can go ahead and help if you so choose.
Q: Can I help out with development?
A: YES; we need ALL the help we can get!
Q: Is there a predicted amount of time when the game will be released?
A: Unfortunately not; we cannot predict how long development will take.
Q: Will I get credited for only suggesting?
A: That is a maybe; depends on what you suggest.
Q: Do I need Half-Life 2 to play this?
A: No. You need Source SDK Base 2007.
Please donate to the people helping on this project!
Hey everyone. I've got some bad news, but it can be resolved rather easily. Since our modeler Tobi Jessop was fired, plus my PC sorta just died, we lost a lot of the files, and a modeler. Though to be fair, he was not that competent of a modeler when it came to anything besides the Theta, plus some other things that I'll choose to remain undisclosed. With that said, I'll lay out what we need.
Modelers - We need modelers, anyone who can model well and don't mind working off of donations. Animating skill not required.
Animators - We need people who can animate the work of non-animator modelers and don't mind working off of donations. Modeling skill not required.
Texture Artists - We need people who can map textures to models and don't mind working off of donations. Modeling and animating skill not required.
Programmers - We need people who can program in C++ and, of course, don't mind working off of donations.
Sound Designers - We need people who can design sounds for use in the game. High quality sounds are usually the best option. Musical skill not required. Of course, and people who don't mind working off of donations.
Voice Actors/Actresses - We need people who have vocal talent and can try to replicate some of the original voices. Of course, as long as you don't mind working off of donations.
Bug/Beta Testers - For when the game is nearly ready for release, we need anyone at all who wants to test out the game.
