It is not much to tell I think. I am ashamed that my animosity toward daedra isn't much more complex. For quite some time, I'm fascinated with idea of damnation and redemption. In books, comics, movies, games, anime and manga. In games I prefer playing character who started evil or good and got his way twisted by something. My character started righteous but Molag Bal changed all of this in an instant. His quest where he cages you and orders you to kill Logrolf, I surrendered and did his bidding. After that I was ashamed but at the same time, the power... It corrupts. So I did everything to acquire more of it, for Skyrim for its people. Killed for daedra, for sithis, became vampirelord and got hold on Mora's knowledge. At the same time I adopted children and gave charity to the poor, helped people of Skyrim. It wasn't an end for me though. Again Molag Bal crossed my patch forcing me to wonder his inferno, then in Grey Cap of Nocturnal and lastly in Vigiliant. In Vigiliant I resisted his corruption and didn't submit to his bidding for the first time and I died, then risen from the dead. I imagined that in this short time my character experienced hell. All daedric gods wanted to claim his soul, all wanted to have a bite of it, all good deeds meant nothing. They tore it apart again and again in never ending cycle. I awoken to the fact that all power I claimed, knowledge, "immortality" are dust in the wind. Someday, someone will end my existence and there will be no Sovngarde for me or even a daedric realm, but infinite cycle of torment that makes horrors of Coldharbour look like a stroll in the park. I was the only one to blame, I submitted to all of this corruption, its driven me into despair. But was I the only one to blame? There is a pattern of eternal meddling in so called heroes lives, I wasn't the only one. Nerevarine, Hero of Cyrodiil, they submitted also, we were only tools for them. I said to myself I will break this cycle, end it once and for all. I will have my revenge, for everyone corrupted, twisted and damned. Everey mortal will chose his own patch for this time onward. In this moment Apotheosis is a key part of my characters history.
It's childish, I know, grown man fantasy after all.

Nah man, that's hardcore roleplay, props. I've always come up with a headcannon for characters i play too.

Its not childish, i think many of us here agree with you. Personally my first meet with daedric lords was in morrowind and i grow a kind of hate against them, Then i did the Sheogorath quest in morrowind and i found myself divided, how could i hate a so fun godlike beign? I think bethesda in many ways feeded that "love-hate".now every time i start a game i think in roleplaying and its fun to find which different your characters feeling are from the game before and the new paths open at your feet. Todd Howard of Bethesda said that the elders scroll saga strong point was the "freedom of movement" and i agree. I think Dio and apotheosis team is doing a great work keeping the freedom of choice feeling of the saga

For time to time I return to Morrowind to see what had been lost. If you use Moon and Star mod and chose not to kill Nerevarine, he spends his days near shrine of Azura, immortal, still powerful but a broken man. His people scattered, his land in turmoil. Does he think, what he could done, if he chosen to discard Azuras patch? Seeing all of this, does he regret? Priestess cursing at me for defying her mistress, rage in her eyes. Poor Nerevrine still so faithful.

Totally true, when i played Moon and Star mod, i spent many visits to azura´s shrine to speak with the nerevarine. He is still seeking for azura´s guide after all the dunmer suffered, but its understandable with his events and pictures a intelligent and powerfull dunmer at the same time that a sad and lonely forgotten hero. Loved that

When in Morrowind, I imagined that my Nerevarine was burdened with unimaginable guilt. Visions of Sothasil's broken body, bloodied Alamlexia's corps in his arms, his friend Vivek who died without a word with smile on his face. Everything for Her, for his people... He is a tragic man. I imagine him waking up at night trying to wash out imaginative blood from his hands(Lady Macbeth style).

Dude, this is the kind of roleplaying that has eluded me in Skyrim for so long, and one of the things that has kept me from really enjoying the game to its fullest. I truly commend you for the thought you put into the lore, the "soul" of your character, so to speak.

If I may, I'm not much of an ES veteran (Skyrim is the first I've played extensively), but with Apotheosis getting closer and closer to completion, I've been recently considering foraying into heavy RP myself, involving a character with Daedric lineage who juggles with both a heavily devious nature and a penchant for heroics for the sake of heroics. Their encounters with the various Lords in quests will likely change their perspectives on more than a few things, and at their core, the call of the blood and an innate desire to sin quite heavily impacts and twists their motivations for doing good in the world. Apotheosis is also the absolute endgame for this, and although I'm not entirely sure if all the Lords will lie dead at my feet, there'll be some hard questions to ask for sure, especially towards the Prince responsible for their ancestry.

But I digress, the bottom line is I've been pretty damn inspired after reading all of this. For that, I thank you, good sir!

Yes daedric influence maybe even heritage. Like in Namira's quest, when they were speaking about his hidden lust for flesh. I imagined my character as little child, left for dead in burned out village, without food, shelter or someone to care for him. Hungry, thirsty, mute partially blinded by the fire. Suddenly some twisted old hag appears and asks him, are you hungry? He nods without any thought, clinging to hers tattered robes. She invites him to a table full of all kind of food. He grabs a piece of meat, so perfect so tender and sweet, he will remember its flavor, texture and smell forever. Some lone solider is looking speechless on a village burned out in a bandit raid. He is a seasoned veteran and seen many things in his service for the empire. But this... There was no feast, no table full of food only little child, more animal than a man, chewing on a piece of burned out flesh... When we put some background in it, even simplest quest can have a colossal meaning in our story.
I am certain that thanks to Di0 we will all find what we seek. Damnation, salvation, retribution, absolution or maybe even death. For me it is very personal. This is my third character(one lost due to HDD failure) from 2011. Apotheosis will be a reason for starting it all again in the future.

i also agree .l like headcanons too. I have theory about nocturnal why she steal dragonborn soul. Maybe she isnt evil at all. What we now about daedric princes. we know that they are immortal most of them are evil why becouse they play with mortals , kill them makes them their slaves.but what if there is a plot twist what i mean. we know how ends dragonborn expansion. dragonborn becomes hermeus servant i guess new mirrak but what if nocturnal saw what will happen with our char in the future. Thats why she stole dragonborn soul.someone will say it doesnt make sense but what if she falls in love with dragonborn or maybe she wants to become mortal,or she maybe wants to become a normal person to be loved like a normal woman and have family. I
