Description: The Apocalypse Weapons modification has a main objective: Turn your Unreal Tournament into a real Deathmatch.
You'll now have powerfull and balanced weapons to use. New pickups were made to suit the mass deathmatch. Neat features will give you more power and speed. A new atmosphere will be born in your computer. Blood will be as simple as a cup of water.
That's the Apocalypse Weapons. A small and simple Modification...
...that turns your UT into a really Unreal Challenge.
Story: After the sucessful first Tournament, the Liandry Industries've decided to upgrade future Tournaments. So, the Apocalypse Weapons project was created. The base of the project was the addition of much more bloody and frantic deathmatches, by including totally new lethal and balanced weapons.
And then, the project was launched. A long search for mercenaries, lunatics and scientists had begun. After years of work, three weapons were ready, so they put them into action.
The Unreal Tournament - Apocalypse Weapons was born. Unfortunately, the results were unexpected. The weapons weren't working properly, which resulted in many flaws and accidental explosions.The Liandry Industries abandonated the project.
Some years later, a young scientist who worked for Liandry Industries stole some parts of the project. Working alone, he improved the three old weapons, and in addition, developed two more. He then searched for a backer, and promoted a new Tournament.
It was so sucessful that today, the project has its own weapons, acessories and ammunition. And each day, the project grows bigger, developing more stuff and winning fans of the whole world. The Tournament can't stop.

Finally, I've just finished the main code of the new secondary ammo for the Cyber Rifle. The concept is a bit weird, but at least it's original and works quite well. I just have to spend some time polishing it, with better sounds, visual effects, and also, specify a damage type to make it work properly with the complex AW Armor system.
When you fire, a portal appears at the place you've shot. And then, a bullet-like projectile is launched. As soons as it hits a surface or a character, it tells the portal a coordinate. And then this portal explodes, launching a few cool acid projectiles, which will hit the coordinate. But, before they hit, they'll spread out. Confusing? Crazy? Yeah, but it's amazing! It's Unreal after all.
I still have to decide a new name for this ammo (as well as for the Armor-piercing ammo, Artic Wind alternate ammo). Right now they're called Nemesis rounds, which was the name I was using for the infection-like ammo, which was the old concept.

I'm really busy at the moment with other things, although I sometimes get an urge to play UT with AW and such... but it's something somewhat rare, you know.
Anyway, feel free to visit the forums here @ ModDB and drop line, or even start a discussion about anything related to the mod... and I'll be pleased to participate there.
I know it's been more than a year since I estimated a release date for AW-X, but it was not only a lack of comitment of my part, as well as the comunity behind AW got shattered after the fall of STX, for example... what I can say is that I'm really sorry for the delay, and for "not-being-able-to-fix-everything-I-would-like-to-and-make-this-mod-really-good-as-I-wanted".

Darkness, just know this one thing, until such a day as you finally release the final AWX as a full and done deal, I will always be following you around, lighting a fire under your ass, kicking you up the butt, pleading and if at all nesisery begging you to finish it! lol!
It's one of the things that brought a light to my life, I've NEVER had a mod that I ALWAYS use on UT! Ever, never ever!
If you need a little help, some ideas, the occational words of incoragment, or if the need arises insults, you know that I'll be on hand to give you what you need! lmfao!
Oh yeah, while I remember it, I see you fixed the last bug I told you about before the last boards we were on went down, where you used to be able to get a grater rate of fire from the shredder if you frantically tapped the primary fire button, cool! lol!

Hi mate, it's good to see you here. Sometimes I miss the old and good activity of the old AW forum, back in the times of Strategy-X...
Anyway, I'm somewhat "rusty" on coding, due to a lack of practice. Even though I've been coding other things, it's somewhat different. I've tried to make a few adjusts in AW, but I couldn't do it easily, took me forever to make a few simple things.
I *may* release the "Aw X" someday, just have to start it. Maybe in the middle of this year, while on holyday there, I could restart working on it, who knows?
I'm not into a very productive time, maybe due to the studies and such, which are requiring most of my thoughts and such.
You can download the Alpha version there... I may even end up releasing a newer Alpha someday. The problem is that I can't track the changes between them properly...
Anyway, thanks for the input. It's good to see that someone is still waiting for it! :D
Tell me it's true, tell me that this isn't a dream, is AW X going to become a reality? Unfortunately the AWX alpha I had, is forever locked deep within the Hard-drive that suffered a critical failure! lol!

Not sure if you remember me, I was one of the old 'think tank' who threw ideas into the cooking pot for AWX (I suggested adding the highly comical 'Crotch Shot' put thoughts in for the new pick up that would become known as the 'Vampire Totem' as well as some of the amusing 'Death' messages) something that I admit I did miss! I read about the new and shiny ammo for the Sniper Rifle (although I'm not sure where I saw it! lol!) and the lack of a name, how about 'Tera-Phase Inversion' rounds?
Darkness, you seem to have been busy 'adopting' stray Mods? good on you, someone had to do it, just to stop some of them fading into mediocrity! lol!
Oh well, I get the feeling that I'm getting dangerously close to rambling, good to see that the magic is back, something that is inspiring me to reinstall UT onto my PC, for the first time since the Hard-drive died!

Also, I've been taking into consideration the possibility of releasing a final version, tuned out, but still, without a working multiplayer (as I can't fix it, it's "beyond my powers"). I gotta decide wheter or not I'm going to do it, maybe releasing "alphas" weekly or so, and asking for feedback.

Ok, i'm a bit confused here
i downloaded the alpha mod and i was blown away completely by the 2 in 1 weapon mode and also new armor.. 1 of the best mods i've ever downloaded (and i aint talking for just unreal) however, i wasn't able to access the config menu cuz i wanted to disable the random spawning of weapons.
so then i downloaded the beta version.. and i noticed it had a few things that the alpha version didn't have such as the config menu and armor attributes (such as target tracker) and also spree bonuses. but when i tried looking for the 2 in 1 weapon mode, the crotch shot and armor display.. there was absolutely nothing
1 thing is first.. which version is supposed to be the "Better, newer 1"?
2 how do i get the config menu in the alpha mod? is there some sort of patch?
3. if there is no patch.. will the newer version of the mod have the best of both worlds? please tell me you will!!!!
