Dr.Rush is a scientist working in Aperture Laboratories. In 5 days he must complete the portal project, sadly it has had two previous failures, with his 3rd attempt he has created the portal device. This device can create two linked portals allowing the user to travel between them. After the completion of the portal gun project Aperture Laboratories are very close to the creation of the GLaDOS unit. Dr.Rush is asked to help by installing one of the final GLaDOS personality cores. His core is the only fail-safe in the GLaDOS project which would allow him and his colleagues to escape should the worst happen...

Portal 1 probably is in 2004~2020.
anyone else realize the portal device was already up and running before GLaDOS was up and running by over 15 years... thought that was interesting.
I was developing mod before portal 2 was released unfortunely so i couldn't know about that portalgun was long running before glados.
Portal 1 was set sometime in 1980's and not long in the 1980's all of the Sciantists and Engineers and people Evacuated so no one looked after the place so for all those years no one looking after the place it became portal 2 when GlaDOS Exploded and lots of the building collaped so then stuff grown in it, and then the Blackmesa instadent in the 1990's released a portal what combine took over earth.
