Yes, this is full version of modification! (1.1) Antlions everywhere!
One of my favorite mods!
From the 'get-go' including the high-quality cutscenes..."Antlions Everywhere" looked like it could be a very high-quality user-made mod. Also starting at the very beginning of this mod....a 'mini' synthesizer song -that sounds like it was reproduced by Vince Clarke from his 1993 album titled, "Lucky Bastard," begins to play over and over in this mod.
Initially, the sound effects and melody from the in-game music sounded pretty cool -pure vintage "Vince Clarke-esque." I had the impression that this 'mini-melody' would actually 'develop' into a song; instead, it begans to repeat itself over and over and over and over and over and over.....to the point where it is extraordinarily-unbearable and way beyond annoying.
In the 'audio options' menu, there is a lever which allows one to slide the 'music' lever down to the integer '0' (hence, NO music). I have noticed that many times this has ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT as to whether music will still continue to play or not in a user-made HL2 mod. Unfortunately, this was the case with this mod as well -- the ultra-repetitive "Vince Clarke" synth sounds/music were unable to be toggled 'off.' My only option was to, hence, play this game with very, very low.....or no audio -- something I am unwilling to do.
As the mod was too annoying to play because of the repetitive music alone, I rate "Antlions Everywhere" a 2/10.
Full gameplay
- first i pushed the gnome in, instead of pulling him out -> stuck for 10 minutes
- the generator starts if i shoot it enough times with the gravity gun? really? again 10 minutes for looking for a handlebar
- the ship in the end...dude pls dont. it has to have a fix patrol route to see that the little things can be reached or something. i tried to shoot them with the pistol, but they were so far away all the time, its just impossible to reach them. i had to noclip to the little things and grab them.
the whole mapping style is rather nice, and the mod is just wasted because of broken puzzle logic. you need a map tester before release.
Ok, I got through my troubles and completed the mod. Left a review which is mostly made out of compliments, but there sure are a few kinks in the mod.
The player could use some more guidance at times, e.g., at the final battle, an hint for taking care of the scanners would be nice. I shot them, fired rockets, but it didn't occur to me to use the gravity gun until I read your comment here.
I'd really like a sequel to this with the battle for the city. I really enjoyed your work, a lot!
Thanks :)
interesting.
In mine #6 I'm stuck at what I believe is near the end of the map. I broke the window in a room, went up the ladder above a crashed elevator and got through the entire radioactive area, then dropped down and opened the door in the other room, but now my teammates keep fighting endless swarms of antlions and I don't know what to do.
Help?
You pressed this button?

If the button is pressed, gate will open and rebels will continue a way.

But if it didn't occur, and rebels keep fighting (that is strange bug), you may continue a way, they return to you in the next level.
I clicked the button and it opened the door. However, that gate remains closed. I just found out that if I press the button again, it crashes the game.
It the ending of this broken? I got to the part with the gunship, and there is literally no way to kill it.
You may use a gravity-gun,in order that destroy a three scanners around of gunship.
You may climb higher and get them.
But if you have a problem with it (bug?) - Sorry, I'll try to fix it in the new update...
Okay, it worked. In the next update though, you should make it more obvious that you need to do that. Most people wouldn't think of it.
Good mod, by the way!
