can i build a castle or not? if so, how?
and here the real reason i posted again:
aparently when i call my lances from my village i only get archers with a few cavalry, is there anything to make more melee infantry show up?

yes you can, when you get a village, build the manor in the building option, when it's finished, you will have another building option to build a fortified manor, when it's done, a newly built castle will appear near your village.
As for the lances, I'm not sure but maybe changing your recruiment laws may help.

go to your chancellor, choose the option "I want to change the recruitment laws for...", choose the settlement you wish to change and adjust it, note that you can adjust it for nobles and peasants.

Its alright, I like the setting and the map layout, but needs more troop variations.
