Amnesia: Fear in Hands


Set ninety years after A Machine for Pigs, Daryon Wolfinger, a bankrupt detective now finds himself lost and desperate for unknown answers about his disappeared wife, that left him after a fight in their house. Daryon is a very agressive husband and a terrible father, living in the shadows, hiding from the monsters in his head with the famous potion of Amnesia, also known as the very popular beer. He takes care from a poor girl named Sofia, his daughter of only 11 years old and for him she is everything that he has left in his life. He will do anything for her, but she wouldn't do the same, since she hates him for everything that he has done with her mother. Daryon, in a last attempt to set things right, tries to track down his now ex-wife Nathalia. He fails and again run to the nearest bar to forget his total failure.

A shadow emerges... It start running in Sofia's direction. She is sleeping at her room, but Dary isn't at home. When he comes back home, he find a letter from an unknown man, with all the answers that he wants. He has his wife and daughter and he can't believe in what his eyes are seeing. He pursues the man but end plummeting from a cliff, in the thoroughfare of the outskirts of Brennard City... He wakes up in a forest, bleeding, destined to die. With no memory except from hallucinations of a man with a gas mask, holding the had of a girl, he now must ask himself his purpose and true legacy to save the ones he once loved.

Hello trackers from ModDB

Since August 2nd of 2012, when we first announced FiH, we never worked so hard in something than we did with this marvelous game that we call Amnesia: Fear in Hands. It took almost 1 entire year to unite and hire all the cast that would work on the game. The pre-production of the game started on the end of 2010, when we started writing the storyline for the game. The inspirations were many, but Divine Comedy and some very cult movies did the work pretty well. We ended by creating a story with no cliches or anything like that. We wanted to be really unobtrusive and different with all the storylines we would be creating at the moment and for the future.

On 2012, we announced Fear in Hands with a song and a poster. The song was "The Humbling River MANNACHINE REMIX", a score that was confirmed on the game. 3 years later we still think that this song is the best description of the game. The lyrics itself tells the story better than any kind of synopsis you would probably be trying to create. Because of that, the new released teaser trailer for Amnesia: Fear in Hands features this song, giving you guys a more detailed glimpse of what is coming.

Scenaries have been changed to create a more beautiful landscape and environment for the game. We went to Dublin on Ireland (where Brennard City has took inspiration) to create a deep and horrific version of it. Brennard still is a fictional city and is not trying to be the perfect copy of the capital. We also hired third-party composers like Jackson Thomaz ( & Efe Tozan ( to create the best Original Soundtrack for our horror game. The immersion that FiH will bring to you is indescribable and shall make you scare your pants off.

In the meanwhile, our best level designs are always hearing the opinion from the public here on ModDB or in our Facebook page, YouTube comments to create a tense atmosphere for the game. Putting more details on the rooms and giving a dark view to the outdoor landscapes.

Since October 25th of 2013, we have been also doing a lot of researches for the level design of the game. We've downloaded ALL the available models/props/entities packs on the Add-Ons page and started moddeling our own custom models and textures. Exporting models to HPL is a tricky adventure but we were decided to bring this to our community. Our legion of fans that are expecting to see something different from the usual in our Custom Story.

And a final announcement. By the end of this year we will release the demo of Amnesia: Fear in Hands and way before that, we will be launching a crowfunding campaign to start getting funds for the development of another game that is already in production for a long time. Most people here on the ModDB page has already heard about Canis Lupus, that is a game project being made by an entirely different team here on Blaster Lizard. During the demo, we will be gathering all the information possible that people will be doing on Facebook and in their YouTube channels during their playthroughs of the game. During that time, we will be focusing on the Canis Lupus project.

We still will be working for Amnesia to get things 100% done, but doesn't expect us to return until the final preparations for the full release of the game (the game updated, new features, bugs and glitches corrected and everything that we gathered seeing your videos and feedback).

Well, with this trailer just gives immersion of Amensia and the physics of it. Haven't seen anything kinda like a presentation/demonstration of a custom story in it?
Furthermore it seems all a bit wannabe professional with this "blaster lizard proudly presents stuff".

The screenshot are imo mostly some overloaded with assets.

We do not want to show anything now. We want to keep everything as a secret for the moment. The proposal of the trailer was exactly that: to show the immersion and mapping. Nothing beyond that.

Yes, we are a small indie games company set in Brazil, we are responsible for translating Kraven Manor, developing Canis Lupus and supporting Skyjaz Games, whose have made Pesadelo: O InĂ­cio, considered one of the best indie horror games of 2013.

And yes again, we're obsessed with details. This is our developing style. We want to bring what the players want: Good mapping, with a deep story and new gameplay mechanics. You can see in the older screenshots that there is much more than just original assets in there. Like I've said before, 95% of the game is custom made ;D

Guys i'm a bit confused about the video,i thought that there were new stuff,new entities,but now it seems like amnesia a machine for pigs,i hope i'm wrong,i really liked the idea at the beginning!

Don't worry. The trailer was made to show the mapping and the immersion of the game. We were testing the AMFP assets in the game, because we weren't using nothing of it. 95% of the game is made with custom assets, some of they used from our indie game, Canis Lupus.

The Torturer's Manor is 1 of the 35 planned maps for FiH. Do not worry mate! :D We will blow your mind with this game! ;)

Exactly! 90 years after A Machine for Pigs, it tellx the story of a man that wanted to rebuilt the machine to take control of the world, but there is someone that will stop him... Or not. It all depends to you

I probably had way too high expectations for this mod but I am a bit disappointed by the trailer... I thought the mod would have new gameplay elements, or new statics/entities.

Well trailer still looks pretty good but I thought there would be more new stuff considering the project started in august 2012...

We do not want to show everything we made to the public yet. You can be sure that there is much more in the game than just assets from AMFP and TDD. We've made the gameplay trailer to show how is going the mapping, voice acting and the imersion settings of our game.

Thanks for sharing your opinions! We always consider to add everything we receive to our games. The is a long way before the release, so a lot of things can be changed during the development!
