After long period of waiting, and almost complete roster change of the ACW Team, we bring you

3.5 Open Beta

of American Civil War: Brothers vs. Brothers

(crashy and buggy for now, we know, but we're fixing things every day,
to bring you the full and stable version soon)

Current build of 3.5 Open Beta supports Warpath map based ACW campaign only.
However, users who don't own Warpath can still play the custom battles with all the new units!

Also, remember this is a BETA of 3.5, so several features aren't working yet and the installation is not as smooth as the full 3.6 version will hopefully be.

In the current 3.5 beta, research is disabled, but we're hoping to implement it in 3.6 or 3.7.

Detailed install info and video here:

1) Empire: Total War (preferably with Warpath addon)
2) ACW Brothers vs. Brothers 3.4.1 version (3.4 patched to 3.4.1)
3) husserlTW's Subs Power
1) Install ACW 3.4 and 3.4.1 patch (install instructions for each in the Latest Downloads/file link/ Description info)
2) install husserlTW's Subs Power launcher
3) download the ZoR - Open Beta 3.5
4) unzip the ZoR - Open Beta 3.5
5) run setup.exe and follow installer's instructions
6) Do not forget to select ZoR in the launcher, to run 3.5 Beta

It's really not as scary as it may look. If you're having any trouble, head to our FORUM and we'll help you out there. PLEASE DON'T USE COMMENTS BELOW HERE FOR TECH SUPPORT QUESTIONS (ACW team will not be answering them, other people might)!

We do not have any release date for 3.6 yet. Not even an estimate. Please do not ask about a release date, because we honestly just don't know.

Quick battles yes, campaign not very. Cause the whole point of Warpath is the more detailed North America map... (btw this answer is on page 2 of comments here)

Been playing your mod for a bit and its really cool. A couple things about the campaign though; for one it seems that the Confederacy starts out a little overpowered. I couldn't understand why every other nation, including the Confederacy, would have all the tech researched but the Union wouldn't. I also thought that the Union cities would already be more developed considering the vast industrial superiority the Union had over the Confederacy. Also I can't build any ships. Makes me sad that I can't implement the Anaconda Plan. And I don't know if your mod controls this or if it is just part of the core game, but I found myself getting defeated when auto-resolving even when my army vastly outnumbered the enemy. For example I lost an auto-resolve battle of almost 13,000 of my men against just over 3,000 enemy.

All tech is enabled from start. Vanilla tech is all 18th century, so in 19th all has already been researched, so your Union has exactly the same stuff as the Confederacy. Ships were disabled in older versions, but are enabled in v3.5 and expanded in the upcoming v3.6. Canbe built in regular trade ports. No clue about auto-resolve. Usually works fine, but alwwys better to fight it out manually.

I have a new Windows 8 operating system ad every time I try to download the mod it says that it either cannot open or I need an app. What are your suggestions?
